Alpine Ski Faction Candide 2.0

The Candide 2.0 is Faction’s flagship, a ski that has become a legend over the years. Jointly designed with the notorious pro rider Candide Thovex, the 2.0 is the flexiest ski in the Candide series. Don’t get us wrong though, we are not saying the ski is soft, its carbon-reinforced construction and traditional underfoot camber makes it lively and stable. Feels great on landings.

What can the Faction Candide 2.0 ski do?

The Candide 2.0 is going to propel you into the world of freestyle/backcountry. With these skis on your feet, you’re ready to shoot extreme videos and be the next big thing in the skiing industry. The 102mm platform and the rockers deliver ultimate powder fun while the twin profile offers the freestyle performance you were dreamin’ of. Shape your own kicker or jump off a natural booter and feel the power of the ski. Sneak through the trees, go venture beyond the marked runs, explore the unknown part of the mountain, you won’t regret it. And if you really must take the skis on groomed snow, fine. They’ll back you up with enough edge control to make your way down to the resort. But…yeah…obviously, you’re not buying this ski to carve on groomers are you?

Who is the Faction Candide 2.0 ski designed for?

Like all Candide skis, the 2.0 is not for beginners. It is responsive, powerful and demanding, if you are not sure about your skills, better buy something easier to use. This one is for reckless freestylers who warm up with a double cork and who’d like to own the best backcountry weapon from Faction.

  • Multi-turns

Shape

  • Bidirectional (twin tip)  :

The ski shape allows to ski forward or backward.

Weight of the pair in grams

  • 3760 (178cm)

Structure - Construction

  • Poplar & Ash Core  :

A poplar core with ash "stringers" is used for their complimentary characteristics of dampness and responsiveness. Used on the bulk of the skis, this together with fiberglass above and below the core provide a smooth feel and control in all snow conditions.

  • Carbon reinforcement  :

A carbon layer makes the core more durable and best suited for a rail use.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Technology

  • 2mm Camber  :

Easy turn initiation on the slope, added reactivity off piste

Rocker type

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.

Various

  • Medium Flex  :

The ski flex is carefully chosen after hour-long tests in every possible conditions. Thanks to the program Rider-Centric, the flex used is set according to the sidecut radius and the ski size in order to provide the best possible performance.

  • Twin-Tip  :

A symmetrical shape for a 100% freestyle ride, as efficient in switch as in regular stance.

Ski Binding Marker Squire 11 ID 110mm Black

The new Squire 11 ID suits intermediate and lighter weight advanced skiers looking for great power transmission in a very light weight freeride binding. The Triple Pivot Light Toe and Hollow Linkage Heel make the binding compact as well as sturdy. Its SOLE.ID technology allows the shop to adjust the binding to accommodate either AT or Alpine boot sole norms. This gives the skier the ultimate flexibility, and allows them to choose a boot with easy to walk soles like GripWalk, to make it easier and (and more fun!) to walk in ski boots. Available in 3 color combinations.null

Binding technologies

  • Triple Pivot Elite Toe  :

The toe construction with DIN/ISO up to Z 18 allows for impressive retention when freeriding. The spring in the toe is inserted horizontally and with a sole plate inclined by 5° it provides the highest energy absorption so as to reduce the risk of early release. The large supporting surface optimizes the power transmission and allows for great stresses and strains. In relation to their weight, toes with this technology therefore achieve a never-seen-before performance.

  • Anti Friction Device AFD  :

All Marker bindings are equipped with a moveable AFD (anti friction device) and therefore guarantee a highly precise release almost entirely unhindered by dirt, snow and ice! Individual adjustment of the AFD to the area of application ensures perfect functionality - from racing, for children’s bindings or on ski tours.

  • Inter-Pivot Heel  :

The stunning heel construction delivers superior holding power for free riding, featuring DIN/ISO 6-16. The Inter Pivot Heel directs the power forces in the angle of elasticity improving the holding power and reducing pre-releases.

Weight of the pair in grams

  • 3080
