Alpine Ski Faction Chapter 116

Slightly redesigned, the Chapter 116 returns and carries as much energy as it used to. The ski is hungry for powder and that is the least we can say.

What can the Faction Chapter 116 do?

Impressive sidecuts and massive tip and tail rockers make the Chapter 116 what it is. A powder torpedo. Designed to ski fast and charge hard, the ski levitates on deep snow and manoeuvers like a snake thanks to the 5 point sidecuts. Featuring the STP technology offering a lighter construction without sacrificing torsional stiffness, and a traditional camber, you get a ski that feels more responsive and grips harder on groomers. It’s also very stable and very stiff, it feels like a solid charger and it is one, you’re warned.

Who is the Faction Chapter 116 designed for?

This 116mm waisted ski is a fat freerider suited for the best advanced and expert freeskiers out there. Agile and aggressive, the ski requires an active skiing

What are the main assets of the Faction Chapter 116 ?

Floatation
Manoeuverability

Structure - Construction

  • Fibreglass  :

Fibreglass layers compliment the woods used, they enhance torsional stiffness, edge grip and reactivity.

  • Five Point Sidecut  :

"Five Point" sidecut technology pulls back the contact point at the tip and tail to create a shorter sidecut section underfoot, and take weight out of the extremities of the ski. This helps create a ski that feels small and nimble on piste, whilst retaining the float of a longer ski off-piste.

  • Poplar & Ash Core  :

A poplar core with ash "stringers" is used for their complimentary characteristics of dampness and responsiveness. Used on the bulk of the skis, this together with fiberglass above and below the core provide a smooth feel and control in all snow conditions.

  • Sandwich Construction  :

    Sandwich construction

  • Transition zone technology  :

Our "Blended Transition Zones" use complex curve geometries where both positive/negative sidecut and where rocker/camber meet to make turn initiation fluid yet the whole ski more stable controllable in all conditions.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Technology

  • 10/200mm Tip Rocker  :

Skis featuring a rockered tip and a traditional or flat camber float better on soft snow and deliver goof performance on groomers.

    10mm rise on a 200mm length.

  • 5/150 Tail Rocker  :

5mm Rocker though 150mm in the tail

  • 2mm Camber  :

Easy turn initiation on the slope, added reactivity off piste

Rocker type

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.

Various

  • Digital Printing  :

Process used on Core and women models: digital printing offers more flexiblity and allows more complex graphics without requiring specific pre-treatment. However, colours aren't as powerful as silkscreening.

  • 1.8mm Edges  :

Durable and reliable, featured on 99% of Faction skis.

  • Ptex-4000 die-cut bases  :

Very High density base for an excellent glide performance, wax retention, and resistance to abrasion.

  • Gloss Layer Topsheet
