Alpine Ski Head Natural Instinct

It seems like 2016 is under the sign of innovation at Head’s. They redesigned their lineup and release new series offering more performance and more pleasure to skiers. The new Instinct series incorporates all-mountain skis suited for riders who focus on fun and versatility.

What can the Head Natural Instinct do?

The Natural Instinct has a name that says a lot about the ski’s personnality. It was designed to make skiing as natural and easy as possible, so that most skiers could enjoy exploring the mountain. From the first run on, the ski feels reliable and inspires confidence. It feels like you’ve been skiing on it for ages although it has just been released on the market. Stable and forgiving, you will progress quickly. The Allride Rocker enhances turn initiations and offers fluidity from a turn to another. It also provides more versatility and allows occasional off-piste forays. The short 13m turning radius makes the ski super agile and effortless, leaving plenty of opportunities to your creativity. In short, the Natural Instinct is a forgiving all-rounder ensuring skiers to have a good time on the slopes.

Who is the Head Natural Instinct designed for?

This is a great all-mountain ski for intermediate and advanced skiers looking for a reliable partner that is easy to move around and fun to play with.

Structure - Construction

  • Libra : Graphène™  :

GRAPHENE is the first crystal that is two dimensional, giving the material a unique set of properties. It is the thinnest and lightest element ever discovered by mankind. GRAPHENE is also the strongest material on the planet, stronger than diamond and 300 times stronger than steel, all in the thickness of one atom.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Technology

  • Allride Rocker  :

The brand places highly targeted amount of rocker in each model to ensure maximum performance for all ability levels. Steering is easier for all skiers and soft snow versatility is enhanced.

  • Era 3.0  :

A masterful blend of three independently important technologies to make the ultimate allcountry skis. A new era has begun.

Rocker+Radius+Rebound=Rocker Done Right : Imagine a ski that performs for everyone, anywhere.

Head Era 3.0 is not your one-dimensional "Have a problem ? Head fix it !". It's a combination of technologies, shape and geometry.

Think rocker, think radius, think rebound. Think 3-dimensional...

Rocker type

  • Tip rocker  :

Skis are more manoeuvrable, contact points on the skis are placed in order to reduce the effective running length, which allows easier pivot and a better float.

Interface

  • Powerrail  :

Modular System : The PowerRail System was built modularly to match any rider’s needs. Covering all segments with choices of Standard or Pro bases and dampeners in different widths for perfect ski fitting. PowerRail suits sole lengths between 260 and 380 mm.

Natural Flex : To ensure unhindered natural flex the PowerRail base is mounted with one pair of fixed screws and three pairs of free gliding screws. This way the base smoothly adapts to the flex of the ski.

Long-Term Performance : Each toe and heel guide can be exchanged or fitted separately, ensuring full functionality even after massive rental use.

Better Power Transmission : PowerRail bases are 7% wider and 25% lower than Railflex II bases, directly improving power transmission from boot to edge.

Various

  • Base structures UHM C  :

Very High density base for an excellent glide performance, wax retention, and resistance to abrasion.
