K2 Pettitor

Alpine Ski K2 Pettitor

The K2 Pettitor is just a supercharged ski from Sean Pettit himself: the big mountain legend. Sponsored by Red Bull when he was only 13 years old, pro rider who excels on vertiginous faces and insane heli ski drops. Sean Pettit puts all his experience to develop with K2 a wonderful Pettitor, an out of bounds ski shaped for skiers like him.

What can the K2 Pettitor do?

Gun down the hill charged of fresh powder, that is what it is all about. Super powerful skis with 120mm waist you float in deep at Mach 2 on every faces you will ride, even faster than the avalanche. The K2 tip and tail Powder Rocker will make you float in deep and gives you an incredible handiness, the huge sidecut will do the rest. With the  Sean Pettit’s Pettitor you will have fun as soon as the powder arrives. Virgens runs, backcountry sessions, technical runs in deep forest; this freeride ski is a prodigy in deep. Get ready to drop cliffs and cornices one after another…

Who is the K2 Pettitor designed for?

The ski reflects his rider, totally exclusive and design for confirmed to expert skiers. If you have the physical and technical condition of Sean Pettit, the Pettitor will turn you nuts. Only for the deep powder days.

What are the main assets of the K2 Pettitor ?

Floats in deep

Manufacturer info :

Type of turns

  • Long turns

  • Bidirectional (twin tip)  :

The ski shape allows to ski forward or backward.

Structure - Construction

  • Triaxial braiding  :

Triaxial braiding consists of braiding fiberglass around a wood core to provide torsional rigidity for added control. Developed in 1988 by K2 engineers, the patented triaxial braiding machine interlocks strands of fiberglass around a milled wood core. This unique method produces skis with great torsional strength, that maintains the lively flex patterns of the wood core.

  • TwinTech  :

This new Twin Tip specific construction process increases the durability of sidewall skis. A traditional sidewall construction produces a 90 degree angle where the top material and sidewall meet. The Twin Tech construction actually rolls the top material into the sidewall reducing the angle that is prone to abuse.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

  • Powder Rocker  :

This tip has the most elevation and longest measurement of Rocker and offers skiers a “surfy” feel with enhanced soft-snow performance. The camber region still exists to ensure edge-hold on firmer conditions.

Simply put, Powder Rocker provides unmatched flotation in deep snow.

Rocker type

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.

  • Swap Base  :

The bases of these skis can come in two different color ways, depending of how the colors are swapped on the base. This gives two looks to the same ski, and ensures you are not rocking the exact same pair as your buddy who just picked up the same pair of skis.

  • Tapered Tip  :

The widest point of the tip is further back on the ski, which reduces the weight of the tip and the resistance of it in soft snow.
