Scott Scrapper 2017

Alpine Ski Scott Scrapper Jr

There are skis for everyone at Scott. Men’s big mountain skis, pretty all-mountain women skis and funny kid-specific skis like this Scrapper Jr. A versatile and user-friendly ski suited for small riders looking for a wide underfoot platform.

What can the Scott Scrapper Jr ski do?

Resembling a lot to the old Sagebrush Junior, the Scrapper Jr features the same all-terrain character as its older brother. This freestyle-oriented ski is an incredible powder hunter and floats really well on the soft stuff, which makes sense when you see its 90mm waist. Future champs can easily start shredding the backcountry, stomp cornices and drop off small cliffs. The rocker enhances fluidity throughout and in between the turns and will help unexperienced kids to progress their technique with confidence. And you shouldn’t wait very long until your young prodigy starts switch skiing and show his friends what’s in his bag of tricks.

Who is the Scott Scrapper Jr ski designed for?

Junior all-mountain ski, the Scrapper Jr is a versatile all-rounder for mini shredders who rip. It’s not an easy ski, kids need good technique if they want to have fun with it but if they do, they’re going to progress super fast on all terrains the mountain has to offer.

What are the main assets of the Scott Scrapper Jr ski?

Fun

Ultra versatile

Great powder floatation

  • Bidirectional (twin tip)  :

The ski shape allows to ski forward or backward.

Structure - Construction

  • Sandwich construction with slanted sidewalls and elliptic laminates  : FORGIVENESS & VERSATILITY - SSCL combines a laminate top and bottom sheet with a traditional sandwich sidewall construction. SCOTT optimized material usage to provide a construction that drastically reduces the weight of the ski. Specific braiding and different combinations of laminates guarantee the best possible construction for their intended use.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Technology

  • Pro Tip 350 mm  :

By incorporating a progressive tip height radius, SCOTT skis simply track better than the competition. SCOTT's Pro-Tip produces a more consistent ski flex and predictable turns. Pro-Tip is available in three heights 300mm (Precision On-Piste), 350mm (All-Mountain) and 375mm (Full Freeride). Tip Rocker 350 mm.

Rocker type

  • Tip rocker  :

Skis are more manoeuvrable, contact points on the skis are placed in order to reduce the effective running length, which allows easier pivot and a better float.

Various

  • Dual Radius  :

Traditional skis have a fixed radius that determines the length of every turn. SCOTT skis combine two radii (dual radius) to create the sidecut or “shape” of the ski. By incorporating the Dual Radius concept, the ski can turn when you want it to turn, resulting in a more versatile ski which is not confined to one type of skiing or terrain.

  • Factory Finish  :

SCOTT skis come direct from the factory "ready to ski" with SCOTT factory finish. Every factory finished ski leaves the factory with side edges ground at 89° and base edges ground between 0.5° and 0.8° for exceptional performance. The base is finished with a micro structured CNC stone grind so you can mount your skis and hit the hill, no tuning required.

Binding technologies

  • Anti Friction Device AFD  :

All Marker bindings are equipped with a moveable AFD (anti friction device) and therefore guarantee a highly precise release almost entirely unhindered by dirt, snow and ice! Individual adjustment of the AFD to the area of application ensures perfect functionality - from racing, for children’s bindings or on ski tours.

  • Compact Heel  :

A statement of efficiency - with the usual perfect MARKER release properties and the perfect mix of great design, lightness and excellent functionality. This heel technology is perfect for beginners and occasional skiers due to the release properties and is an excellent value.

  • Triple Pivot Light  :

The compact toe features a horizontally inserted spring. Together with the gliding plate the gliding elements integrated into the sole holders ensure a very precise release behaviour which is comparable to all other MARKER bindings. Why should touring skiers and freestylers accept any compromises? An aluminium bridge on the top provides additional support without adding any extra weight.
