Alpine Ski Scott Srv

There’s another new model in the winter 2017-2018 Scott ski series, the SRV. Its main mission is to make you enjoy the pistes to the fullest and to help you discovering powder-riding in good conditions. With this modern and playful all-mountain ski, you can spend wonderful riding sessions with confidence.

What can the Scott SRV ski do?

This ski is close to a Black Majic regarding the shape and sidecuts but it is less demanding. The SRV has no metal in its construction which makes it more forgiving and more flexy. You can enjoy the downhill and link flawless turns at the speed you want. You can choose between short and long turns thanks to its versatile radius and a nice responsive feel. It inspires confidence thanks to a solid edge hold so don’t hesitate to charge and nobody will be able to follow! Scott also designed the SRV to be a fearless all-mountain ski. Thanks to its tip rocker you can explore the edges of the pistes and discover the joys of surfing powder. With this ski, you will float effortlessly and steer naturally.

Who is the Scott SRV ski designed for?

This ski is suitable for intermediate to expert skiers. The most novice of you will have the forgiveness they need to progress their skills with confidence. As for the most experts, they can search for the ski limits and push it further. The 2018 SRV is a good everyday ski designed for the pistes but versatile enough to be run on powder.

The ski shape allows only a directional use.

Structure - Construction

  • Sandwich construction  :

Sandwich construction is part of a quality ski. This construction layers different materials chosen for their physical characteristics depending on the characteristics needed for the ski.

  • Tip to tail woodcore  :

The long woodcore gives the ski a more consistent flex and more fluidity through transitions.

  • Sandwich construction with slanted sidewalls and elliptic laminates  : FORGIVENESS & VERSATILITY - SSCL combines a laminate top and bottom sheet with a traditional sandwich sidewall construction. SCOTT optimized material usage to provide a construction that drastically reduces the weight of the ski. Specific braiding and different combinations of laminates guarantee the best possible construction for their intended use.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Technology

  • Pro Tip 300 mm  :

By incorporating a progressive tip height radius, SCOTT skis simply track better than the competition. SCOTT's Pro-Tip produces a more consistent ski flex and predictable turns. Pro-Tip is available in three heights 300mm (Precision On-Piste), 350mm (All-Mountain) and 375mm (Full Freeride). Tip Rocker 300mm

Various

  • 3D Sidecut  :

Revolutionary technology combining 2 radius with a central straight sidecut, allowing twin rocker skis to be brilliant on off pist with an excellent edge grip on pistes.

  • Factory Finish  :

SCOTT skis come direct from the factory "ready to ski" with SCOTT factory finish. Every factory finished ski leaves the factory with side edges ground at 89° and base edges ground between 0.5° and 0.8° for exceptional performance. The base is finished with a micro structured CNC stone grind so you can mount your skis and hit the hill, no tuning required.

  • Pre Track  :

When developing Pre-Track, SCOTT designed skis with wide tips and/or slightly turned up tails. With Pre-Track, SCOTT skis employ a smaller effective edge for short radius turns on groomed slopes and a longer effective edge when making bigger turns or skiing off-piste. The result is a more precise, stable, reliable and versatile ski.

Binding technologies

  • Anti Friction Device AFD  :

All Marker bindings are equipped with a moveable AFD (anti friction device) and therefore guarantee a highly precise release almost entirely unhindered by dirt, snow and ice! Individual adjustment of the AFD to the area of application ensures perfect functionality - from racing, for children’s bindings or on ski tours.

  • Hollow Linkage Heel  :

The heel was also redesigned from the ground up to guarantee optimal retention for all types of alpine and touring soles. The aluminium hollow axle saves on weight and maximizes the torsional stiffness. This very robust heel construction is best suited for the most strenuous of requirements.

  • Triple Pivot Light  :

The compact toe features a horizontally inserted spring. Together with the gliding plate the gliding elements integrated into the sole holders ensure a very precise release behaviour which is comparable to all other MARKER bindings. Why should touring skiers and freestylers accept any compromises? An aluminium bridge on the top provides additional support without adding any extra weight.
