Alpine Ski Volkl Ledge

The Volkl Ledge is a modern freestyle ski with a symmetrical shape. This twin tip ski has a soft flex, it might even be the softest of the Volkl’s range, and a super light weight. Ideal characteristics for every skiers who want to start freestyle skiing and a forgiving and playful ski.

What can the Volkl Ledge ski do?

Slopes or park? That is the question with this super fun ski that plays on both terrains. On the slopes, the Ledge uses its double rocker in tip and tail to provide intuitive turn initiations and exits at full speed. It grips great on hard snow but it excels in transformed snow where it delivers a really pleasant glide. The bold and thrill seekers will find in the Ledge the perfect ally to work on their tricks in the park. Its wood core delivers a really good pop that will please riders looking to send tricks on every single jumps. No matter the mood, you will be surprised by the forgiveness of those blades.

Who is the Volkl Ledge ski designed for?

We advise this model to intermediate skiers looking for a soft freestyle ski to have fun and with a pop to take off easily. Its forgiveness and playfulness make it a perfect ski to improve technically while enjoying the sunshiny day.

Structure - Construction

  • Full Sidewall  :

Strength and efficiency. A simple process you can always count on.

  • Multi Layer Woodcore  :

Völkl freeskiing models feature a multi-layer wood core with two different densities of wood. In the binding attachment area, a dense, ash core is used, while in the rest of the ski, the core is poplar. The more dense wood creates secure screw retention and stability, while the softer poplar section allows for resilience and snap. The flex pattern can be tailored to each ski model to match the desired performance characteristics.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Technology

  • Symmetrical Sidecut  :

The symmetrical sidecut allows the park and pipe rider the best possible performance by allowing a center-mounted ski to perform the same while riding switch or forward. It also allows completely even balance for rail slides

  • Tip & Tail Rocker  :

The ski has a variable edge length in the shovel and tail areas. The rocker height is minimal. The variable edge set between the shovel and tail makes the ski turn-happy. That in turn allows for a stiffer flex setup. A longer ski can be selected.

Rocker type

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.

Various

  • P-Tex 1100 base
  • Twin-Tip  :

A symmetrical shape for a 100% freestyle ride, as efficient in switch as in regular stance.

Binding technologies

  • Anti Friction Device AFD  :

All Marker bindings are equipped with a moveable AFD (anti friction device) and therefore guarantee a highly precise release almost entirely unhindered by dirt, snow and ice! Individual adjustment of the AFD to the area of application ensures perfect functionality - from racing, for children’s bindings or on ski tours.

  • Compact Heel  :

A statement of efficiency - with the usual perfect MARKER release properties and the perfect mix of great design, lightness and excellent functionality. This heel technology is perfect for beginners and occasional skiers due to the release properties and is an excellent value.

  • Triple Pivot Light  :

The compact toe features a horizontally inserted spring. Together with the gliding plate the gliding elements integrated into the sole holders ensure a very precise release behaviour which is comparable to all other MARKER bindings. Why should touring skiers and freestylers accept any compromises? An aluminium bridge on the top provides additional support without adding any extra weight.
