It was such a relief to see it in Jones’ 2017 line of boards! The Mountain Twin is back for more. This board is really hard to put in a category and it’s tough to recommend it to a specific family of riders. It is the most versatile all-rounder ever and it ticks all snowboard boxes, freestyle, all-mountain, freeride, it does it all.

What can the Jones Mountain Twin snowboard do?

Just let it flow, there’s not much to do for truly enjoying this board. Ultra versatile and performance-oriented, the Mountain Twin is perfectly suited for powder amateurs as well as freestylers. Its playful character is brought by two rockered tips and a twin shape generally found on freestyle boards while the pop is provided by a section of traditional camber. This very same profile also offers excellent freeride and powder performance. The board stays afloat with a ridiculous ease and doesn’t require a pro level to be managed. Turns are fluid and intuitive and the board will let you jump off cornices or any other natural feature with style. Its camber and its responsive construction deliver solid stability and edge control on hard snow allowing riders to carve trenches on the slopes if they like. The Mountain Twin is without any doubt one of the most versatile board we were given to try. Trust us.

Who is the Jones Mountain Twin snowboard designed for?

It’s a board for advanced riders looking for an all-terrain board that won’t limit them on the mountain. It doesn’t matter if you prefer powder or park, the Mountain Twin is a work-of-art that performs anywhere, literally.

Structure - Construction

  • Triaxial fiberglass  :

Fiberglass weave positioned at 0°/-45°/45° for a stiffer board in torsion.

  • Mellow Magne-Traction  :

Like a serrated knife slicing into the snow, Magne-Traction improves your edge grip by adding multiple contact points along the running length of your board. The Flagship, Mountain Twin, and the Solution all feature a refined Magne-Traction design where the bumps are biggest between your bindings for maximum edge control and smaller outside your feet allowing you to feather your turns without catching an edge. Jeremy's Words: Why trust your life to an edge with only two contact points when Magne-Traction gives you the grip of seven points of contact! I have gotten to the bottom of countless steep, icy faces and thanked my Magne-Traction for giving me the edge control to hold on. Magne-Traction is also a key ingredient for rockered board designs. Adding rocker to your board makes it glide more smoothly, but it makes it harder to really lock into your turns and hold a solid edge. Though Magne-Traction on full-camber boards tends to feel too locked in, once I started testing different rocker designs it was clear that Magne-Traction was crucial to offset the drift typical of rocker flex patterns.

  • Noyau Mountain Core  :

Full-wood dual-density core that offers reduced weight, added pop and durability.

Shape - Sidecuts

  • Directional twin shape  :

Symetric shape for freestyle, directional flex for smooth turns at full speed. Bindings are slightly setback.

Rocker - Camber

  • Camrock  :

Rocker with reverse camber for more forgiveness in park and flat, better floatation on powder.

  • Blunt Nose  :

"How a board glides in powder, crust, corn or any snow condition more than an inch deep is dictated by its front contact point and just past it. Next time you are in soft snow watch how much snow comes over the corner of the nose near the contact point. The billowing snow means you are plowing through it which is obviously slowing you down. By adding a blunt nose you get the float benefits of a much longer board tip without the added length or swing weight. " - Jeremy Jones.

  • Factory Tuned  :

All Jones Snowboards are factory de-tuned at the tip and tail plus waxed with OneBallJay Bio wax so you can go right from the shop to the mountain.

  • Film Topsheet  :

A thin piece of film replaces the traditional plastic top sheet. This eliminates plastic and reduces the eight of the boards.

  • Oversized Recycled Edges
  • Recycled ABS  :

ABS plastic is one of the necessary evils of snowboard production. Jones improve the sustainability of our snowboards by using only recycled plastic.

  • Flip Flop base  :

Wastes of P-tex are dramatically reduced, enhancing material performance.

  • Sintered 7000 Base  :

Durable natural base material with added carbon for speed and good wax absorbency.

  • Wend Natural Wax  :

Jones boards are ready to shred straight out of the shop and are factory waxed with Wend natural wax
