SALOMON 2016 BOARD SICKSTICK

Snowboard Salomon Sickstick

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The Sickstick returns and still looks sick as heck with its pointy tips! Often copied but never imitated, this board is Salomon's iconic all-mountain quiver. Designed with versatility in mind, the Sickstick can surf the entire mountain and make it look easy. It features most of Salomon's best and latest technologies enhancing all-terrain performance and ridability. If graphics are minimalist, the list of techs it carries is the opposite.

What can the Salomon Sickstick do?

The board's favorite playground is powder, especially if it involves slaloms through the trees or big natural booters in the backcountry. Its Cross Profile delivers excellent edge grip thanks to a traditional underfoot camber while the rockers in the tips make the board uber playful and nimble in deep snow. They help keeping it afloat naturally and don't require high technical skills from riders to perform. The board is stable and reacts perfectly whatever the terrain which makes it great on and off piste!

Who is the Salomon Sickstick designed for?

It is a board for advanced and expert riders looking for a freestyle-oriented powder hound. The board is really agile and playful and inspires creativity in the backcountry.

What are the main assets of the Salomon Sickstick?

- Powder friendliness

- Agility

Structure - Construction

  • ABC Wrapper  :

More pop, less plastic! ABC Wrapper is a patented process using structural bamboo veneers to reduce fiberglass and resin content in each board by 40%. Traditional ABS sidewalls get the axe — replaced instead by waterproof Bamboo rods.

  • BA MD  :

Medium density European-made fiberglass layers guarantee a consistent quality level, for light and lively boards.

  • Bamboo + cork sidewalls
  • Ghost Green Core  :

To build this light and poppy core, Salomon's mixed its best wood strips with some carefully selected sustainable light wood.

  • Popster core  :

Maximize the natural snap and powerful pop of wood with Popster’s shaped core profile. Feels like your skateboard kicktail finally connected with your snowboard.

Shape - Sidecuts

  • Shape  :

A blend of elliptic curves for easy turn initiation, effortless direction changes and fluid edge to edge transitions.

  • Shape Tapered Twin

Rocker - Camber

  • Cross Profile  :

Camber between your feet for a better control, pop and stability on landings. Rockers at the tips for a great floatability, in regular or switch.

Other

  • All Mountain Edge Bevel  :

The edge angle is softened to 1° on the tip and tail and on strategic points on the sidecuts. There's a 2° angle between the feet. Benefits : Excellent edge grip, avoids edge catch.

  • Fine Stone Finish  :

Fine Stone Finish : very efficient, this finish increases speed on powder and soft snow.

  • Sintered EG Base  :

Engineered for a super fast glide on everything from fresh pow to sticky spring snow. Sintered material provides superior wax retention, Gallium strengthens impact resistance, and the Electra finish gives a turbo-charged glide.
