Description

Directional in shape with a reclined foot position, the Essential Service goes everywhere and offers lots of control when cornering. You will also be able to take advantage of the good flotation offered by this board to jump off rocky bars and send on kickers with a good landing in the powder.

What is the program of the GNU Essential Service snowboard?

The  Essential Service has a powerful and light construction that mixes balsa, poplar and paulownia. In combination with a well-marked classic camber, this provides excellent stability at high speed on all terrains, but also a very good edge control on the piste and bounce in turns. So, you can enjoy carving with the  Essential Service, nonetheless thanks to its directional shape and its reclined foot position, you will also benefit from an excellent ride in powder snow. It is really a board with which you can vary the terrain at will and charge down the slopes!

Who is the GNU Essential Service snowboard intended for?

This model will suit both snowboarders looking for a board to get into the slopes as well as snowboarders who dream of drawing big lines in the powder snow by jumping from pillow to pillow. Either way, it requires an experienced or expert level of skill as well as good support.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
