Alpine Ski 4FRNT Kye 95

4FRNT introduces the new Kye series. It incorporates skis designed for free touring and derived in several widths all boasting an ultra light construction. Whether you need something for short approaches, for long tours or for shredding powder, the Kye skis are unbeatable.

What can the 4FRNT Kye 95 do?

With ‘only’ 95mm at the waist the Kye 95 is the narrowest ski of the Kye series which also makes it the most versatile and the lightest one. If you are into freetouring and you look for something that can cover your needs, this is your chance. The ski feels light and will carry you uphill effortlessly. On the downhill, you can rely on its profile to keep you planing over powder surface naturally. It’s got a long rockered tip and a shorter rockered tail enhancing agility and fun. It gives the ski tons of control and more breaking power on difficult terrains as well and makes it more predictable on harder snow. From sharp turns through the trees to smearing wide untracked slopes, the Kye 95 delivers. You can even take it on groomers you should be able to make it carve with style!

Who is the 4FRNT Kye 95 designed for?

This is an excellent choice for intermediate skiers who want to discover the joys of surfing powder but who also want to keep other options open. The ski feels super versatile and you can make it work on hard and soft snow alike. Moreover, the ski is light which is a real bonus for skiers who thought about having their touring bindings mounted on it.

  • Long turns

  • Directional (front tip)  :

Weight of the pair in grams

Structure - Construction

  • Hi-Lite Core  :

Poplar and beech create a snappy yet lightweight composition to support wider skis in soft snow.

  • Semi-Cap Construction  :

Sandwich construction with the topsheet covering the sidewall, providing reinforcement.

  • Vibe Veil  : Vibration drastically reduces confidence. The VibeVeil elastic membrane situated in the tips of our rockered skis dramatically reduces chatter and weak edge hold, commonly the result of extended negative radius profiles in ski tips when used in varied to firm snow conditions. All 2015/16 skis featuring VibeVeil have a transparent window logo highlighting the very material used in each ski.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

  • Rocker technology  :

Maximizes performance on deep snow. Camber is designed so that the pressure points are higher which enhances floatation and manoeuvrability on powder.

Rocker type

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.

Binding technologies

  • Triple Pivot Elite Toe  :

The toe construction with DIN/ISO up to Z 18 allows for impressive retention when freeriding. The spring in the toe is inserted horizontally and with a sole plate inclined by 5° it provides the highest energy absorption so as to reduce the risk of early release. The large supporting surface optimizes the power transmission and allows for great stresses and strains. In relation to their weight, toes with this technology therefore achieve a never-seen-before performance.

  • Touring mode  :

    Walk mode for touring

  • Anti Friction Device AFD  :

All Marker bindings are equipped with a moveable AFD (anti friction device) and therefore guarantee a highly precise release almost entirely unhindered by dirt, snow and ice! Individual adjustment of the AFD to the area of application ensures perfect functionality - from racing, for children’s bindings or on ski tours.
