Alpine Ski 4FRNT Raven

The Raven is a freetouring ski that brings versatility to the next level. This new version delivers high performance on all terrains. From powder shredding to touring or even carving, the ski does it all.

What can the 4FRNT Raven do?

We’d rather warn you, if you like pushing your skis up to their limits you may have a bit of struggle doing so with this one cause it barely has any. This 102mm waisted beast is happy on powder as it is on harder snow. It follows freeride skis as if it was one and floats with the same ease on the deepest powder. The tip and tail rockers combined with the flat camber make the ski nimble and easy to move around. It links turns with fluidity and likes it when the speed gets cranked up. But this isn’t it. Weighing only 1,900 gramms per ski in 184cm, it’s a great option for freetourers looking for freedom. You can skin up the peak and enjoy the descent with 2 serious performers under your feet. Last bu not least, this new version features the Vibe Veil technology which helps the ski to absorb vibrations and chatter usually common on rockered skis. It makes the glide smoother and more comfortable even on crud and chopped up snow.

Who is the 4FRNT Raven designed for?

The Raven is a treat for advanced and expert skiers who love surfing powder. This light and wide ski delivers high off-piste performance and can very well be used as an everyday quiver when conditions aren’t fantastic. Just make sure you have the skills for it.

What are the main assets of the 4FRNT Raven?

All-terrain performance

Structure - Construction

  • Indiblock Core  :

Laminate wood for optimum feel and stable flex.

  • Carbon reinforcement
  • Semi-Cap Construction  :

Sandwich construction with the topsheet covering the sidewall, providing reinforcement.

  • Vibe Veil  : Vibration drastically reduces confidence. The VibeVeil elastic membrane situated in the tips of our rockered skis dramatically reduces chatter and weak edge hold, commonly the result of extended negative radius profiles in ski tips when used in varied to firm snow conditions. All 2015/16 skis featuring VibeVeil have a transparent window logo highlighting the very material used in each ski.

Camber type

  • Flat camber  :

Enhances ski pivot without compromising edge control on hard snow.

  • Rocker technology  :

Maximizes performance on deep snow. Camber is designed so that the pressure points are higher which enhances floatation and manoeuvrability on powder.

Rocker type

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.

Touring Binding Marker Baron 13 EPF 110 mm Black White Silver

As the lighter cousin to the Duke with a DIN setting up 13, the Baron has earned its stripes as a favorite amongst big mountain, backcountry enthusiasts. Extended Power Frame (EPF), with its extra-wide connection to the ski, gives it the structure needed to power today's wider skis through any snow conditions, whether inside or outside the resort. The 10 mm wider drilling pattern blasts the Baron into a new stratosphere of power, with a DIN setting up 13. In addition the Baron 13 EPF also comes with Sole.ID and the easy-to-handle climbing aid.

Binding technologies

  • Triple Pivot Elite Toe  :

The toe construction with DIN/ISO up to Z 18 allows for impressive retention when freeriding. The spring in the toe is inserted horizontally and with a sole plate inclined by 5° it provides the highest energy absorption so as to reduce the risk of early release. The large supporting surface optimizes the power transmission and allows for great stresses and strains. In relation to their weight, toes with this technology therefore achieve a never-seen-before performance.

  • Anti Friction Device AFD  :

All Marker bindings are equipped with a moveable AFD (anti friction device) and therefore guarantee a highly precise release almost entirely unhindered by dirt, snow and ice! Individual adjustment of the AFD to the area of application ensures perfect functionality - from racing, for children’s bindings or on ski tours.

  • Inter-Pivot Heel  :

The stunning heel construction delivers superior holding power for free riding, featuring DIN/ISO 6-16. The Inter Pivot Heel directs the power forces in the angle of elasticity improving the holding power and reducing pre-releases.
