Alpine Ski Armada TST

The Armada TST ski is the little brother of the Norwalk. Built with the same shape, it offers a huge tip rocker and a traditional tail, all this with a classic camber underfoot and reduces sidecut. Its waist changes between 100 and 103 mm according to the desired length of the ski. The TSt might lose a bit of freeride abilities but provides an increased handiness with its radius between 12 and 19m. In the end, this ski is one of the most versatile of Armada’s catalogue.

What can the Armada TST ski do?

The secret of the TST is to adapt to any playgrounds to deliver a max of sensations on every runs. Stunning in powder where the tip rocker makes it float instantly. The tip might not be wide enough to float in super deep powder but it stays super nimble in any snow conditions. This model is made to discover backcountry skiing and slalom between the trees. The reduced sidecut will comes into action on the slopes to provide quick edge to edge transitions, a great accuracy to do stylish turns and kick-in coming out of turns for a good acceleration.

Who is the Armada TST ski designed for?

We advise this model to skiers looking for a super versatile freeski. Not too demanding, the TST will please intermediate and confirmed riders who want to work on their technique and ride a playful ski on all terrains.

What are the main assets of the Armada TST ski?

Shape

  • Directional (front tip)  :

The ski shape allows only a directional use.

Structure - Construction

  • AR50 Sidewalls  :

ABS sidewall meets cap construction – the best of both worlds. This engineering method combines the lightweight cap construction in the tip and tail with ABS sidewall underfoot, resulting in enhanced edgehold and significantly lower swing and overall weight.

  • Ultralight Core  :

A combination of lightweight woods throughout and hardwood laminates underfoot, the Hybrid Ultra-lite Core created the ultimate in agility and maneuverability without sacrificing any security or dampness underfoot.

  • Laminate matrix  :

We know from the core out exactly how each ski should react, so three kinds of fiberglass laminates are used in combination to deliver the exact amount of flex and torsional rigidity. Bi-axial fiberglass runs in an “x” pattern down the ski to control lateral flex. Uni-directional fiberglass controls flex along the length of the ski. And tri-axial fiberglass, with fibers running in three directions, beefs up the center of the ski. The permutations of the three fiberglasses are nearly limitless and allow us to precision tune the performance of every ski we make.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Technology

  • EST All Mtn Rocker  :

A rockered tip but no rocker in the tail and a positive camber under the foot. That guarantees a good floatation on powder and a good grip on hardpack.

Rocker type

  • Tip rocker  :

Skis are more manoeuvrable, contact points on the skis are placed in order to reduce the effective running length, which allows easier pivot and a better float.

Various

  • 1.7 impact edge  :

The edge height and width is deliberately smaller and the steel is heat-treated to a proprietary hardness to increase durability and decrease weight

  • Comp Series Base  :

A World Cup-inspired base that requires higher maintenance than the S7, the Comp Series pays for the extra TLC it requires in one way: Speed.

Binding technologies

  • Triple Pivot Elite Toe  :

The toe construction with DIN/ISO up to Z 18 allows for impressive retention when freeriding. The spring in the toe is inserted horizontally and with a sole plate inclined by 5° it provides the highest energy absorption so as to reduce the risk of early release. The large supporting surface optimizes the power transmission and allows for great stresses and strains. In relation to their weight, toes with this technology therefore achieve a never-seen-before performance.

  • Touring mode  :

    Walk mode for touring

  • Anti Friction Device AFD  :

All Marker bindings are equipped with a moveable AFD (anti friction device) and therefore guarantee a highly precise release almost entirely unhindered by dirt, snow and ice! Individual adjustment of the AFD to the area of application ensures perfect functionality - from racing, for children’s bindings or on ski tours.
