Alpine Ski Black Crows Orb

Big news for the 2017 Orb signed by Black Crows, it gave up the flat tail for a slight tail rocker also know by the name of Single beak and a half shape. The 2017 Orb pivots quickly and is orientated to a modern use. Black Crows engineers didn’t do any compromise on the stiffness and the power, it is endowed, and for the first time in history, with a titanium reinforcement plate. The new Orb is super snappy and extremely playful.

What can the Black Crows Orb ski do?

This all-mountain ski with its 90mm waist has no rival in term of adaptation to the terrain. With this redesigned Orb, you can attack on the slopes coming out of the gondola, its stiffness allow you to carve big lines on the slopes at max speed, if there are too many tourists for you just jump over the rope and smear powder all the way down. The tip rocker will keep you afloat and the early raised tail rocker will comes into action and delivers an astounding handiness. You will turn effortlessly, the balance is perfect and you slay beautiful lines in deep. In the end, the modernisation of the iconic ski made in Black Crows is a great success. You better get your hands on a pair of those bad boys.

Who is the Black Crows Orb ski designed for?

Confirmed and expert riders, if you want to have a blast this winter, this all-mountain ski is more powerful and playful than ever. Watch out, the titanium reinforcement plate boosts the 2017 Orb and will require a better physical condition to be fully enjoyed.

Woodcores have been used in the ski industry for ages. Thanks to its mechanical properties, its durability and the amount of possible combinations in terms of flex and torsion, wood remains the reference for top-of-range cores. They provide stability, rebounce, eliminate vibrations, and are extremely durable.

  • Semi Cap  :

Semi-capped sidewalls are a good way to unify the sides with the top of the ski and maintain the strength of vertical sidewalls.

Binding technologies

  • Touring mode  :

The patented, ergonomically shaped lever under the boot allows comfortable opening and closing. The position prevents the binding from unwanted release and provides unparalleled security against an undesired “telemark“ situation.

  • Anti Friction Device AFD  :

All Marker bindings are equipped with a moveable AFD (anti friction device) and therefore guarantee a highly precise release almost entirely unhindered by dirt, snow and ice! Individual adjustment of the AFD to the area of application ensures perfect functionality - from racing, for children’s bindings or on ski tours.

  • Hollow Linkage Heel  :

The heel was also redesigned from the ground up to guarantee optimal retention for all types of alpine and touring soles. The aluminium hollow axle saves on weight and maximizes the torsional stiffness. This very robust heel construction is best suited for the most strenuous of requirements.

  • Triple Pivot Light  :

The compact toe features a horizontally inserted spring. Together with the gliding plate the gliding elements integrated into the sole holders ensure a very precise release behaviour which is comparable to all other MARKER bindings. Why should touring skiers and freestylers accept any compromises? An aluminium bridge on the top provides additional support without adding any extra weight.
