H16 BLIZZARD - gamme BULL

SKI 2016 : Présentation de la gamme BULL de chez BLIZZARD, par Jérémie, conseiller ski chez Glisshop.com

Alpine Ski Blizzard Spur

Blizzard brings back its line of freeride all-mountain skis known for the power they deliver. If you want to rule the entire mountain with a ski making no compromise, you’ve come to the right place.

What can the Blizzard Spur do?

A monster! A huge monster, you can’t even hold it with one hand. The Spur is a powderhound, a purebred that devours powder for breakfast. It is Blizzard’s biggest ski and it comes with massive sidecuts made for shred. 125mm at the waist and a long 30m turning radius, the beast clearly likes full speed turns on the deep. With an oversized ski like this, needless to say you won’t go slalom on groomers. It was made to surf powder and it does it with a ridiculous ease. The huge rocker keeps the ski afloat naturally while its titanal reinforcement provides tons of power allowing the ski to perform on other terrains such as crud, chopped up snow or even groomed snow. It remains a bigmountain ski though, don’t buy it if you’re looking for a carver, buy it if you spend most of your time in the wild!

Who is the Blizzard Spur designed for?

The Spur is available in one length only. If we go straight to the point, it means it’s a ski suited for expert skiers only, strong and powerful skiers looking for a powder-specific ski. It does need good conditions to perform at its best but man, when powder is bottomless the Spur is the ski you need to have. You can forget about the rest.

What are the main assets of the Blizzard Spur?

Floatation

Stability

Structure - Construction

  • Sandwich Construction Compound Sidewall  :

Sandwich construction with phenol sidewalls. It incorporates the IQ bindings system. The sandwich construction is part of a quality ski. This construction layers different materials chosen for their physical characteristics depending on the characteristics needed for the ski.

  • Flip core  :

Blizzard Flip Core is the revolutionary new rocker technology for blizzard's freeride line. Natural spring, lightweight floating in powder, while yet retaining excellent stability are the immediate advantages of Blizzard's new construction. All of this is made possible through the flipped wood core, whose downward-facing convex side forms the natural rocker shape of the ski, without having to bend or artificially shape the ski in a press. This allows the rocker construction to reach a previously unknown level of stability and even pressure distribution.

  • Lite Core  :

This technology was quite particularly studied to satisfy the specific needs for the skiers freeride and of today all-mountain. Isocore and bamboo cores use allows to lower the weight.

  • Ti Binding  :

    Ti reinforcement at waist

Camber type

  • Flat camber  :

Enhances ski pivot without compromising edge control on hard snow.

Rocker type

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.
