Alpine Ski Dynastar Cham Alti 85

The Cham series gets bigger and bigger. For 2015, it welcomes 3 new skis named the Alti 80, the Alti 85 and the Alti 80 Women. 3 skis on which Dynastar worked hard to combine high freeride performance with great touring abilities. That means the skis incorporate a light paulownia core, a rockered tip for more floatability and a new clipping system for the skins. The result is simply amazing. They're precise, they're light and they're versatile.  

The Alti 85 features the same construction as the Alti 80 but comes with more generous sidecuts and a wider waist (5mm). The turning radius goes wider (22m) and the ski's buoyancy gets improved. The ski becomes easier to ski on the downhill and remains consistent whether it's on soft or hard snow.  


What our testers say : The difference between the Cham Alti 85 and the Cham Alti 80 is thin. 5 millimeters and a few gramms. If both deliver lightweight and agility when the path points uphill (the Alti 85 is only 5gr/ski heavier than the 80), they will work slightly differently when descending. To make things simple, the Alti is best suited for advanced skiers who like to ski the deep and want something with more float and more support.

    Cap Construction blends core with fibreglass which makes the ski lighter, more forgiving and more agile.

    A blend of wood and acrylic, makes the Alti range construction lightweight, tough and high-performing during descent.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

    When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Rocker type

  • Tip rocker  :

    Skis are more manoeuvrable, contact points on the skis are placed in order to reduce the effective running length, which allows easier pivot and a better float.

Binding technologies

  • Touring mode  :

    The patented, ergonomically shaped lever under the boot allows comfortable opening and closing. The position prevents the binding from unwanted release and provides unparalleled security against an undesired “telemark“ situation.

  • Anti Friction Device AFD  :

    All Marker bindings are equipped with a moveable AFD (anti friction device) and therefore guarantee a highly precise release almost entirely unhindered by dirt, snow and ice! Individual adjustment of the AFD to the area of application ensures perfect functionality - from racing, for children’s bindings or on ski tours.

  • Hollow Linkage Heel  :

    The heel was also redesigned from the ground up to guarantee optimal retention for all types of alpine and touring soles. The aluminium hollow axle saves on weight and maximizes the torsional stiffness. This very robust heel construction is best suited for the most strenuous of requirements.

  • Triple Pivot Light  :

    The compact toe features a horizontally inserted spring. Together with the gliding plate the gliding elements integrated into the sole holders ensure a very precise release behaviour which is comparable to all other MARKER bindings. Why should touring skiers and freestylers accept any compromises? An aluminium bridge on the top provides additional support without adding any extra weight.
