Alpine Ski Dynastar Glory 84

This is the bright and shiny new Women-specific all-mountain range of Dynastar. The Glory series will hit the market in 2016 and it will most likely rock the mountain as well! Designed with versatility in mind, the skis can handle any terrain, any conditions, any slopes and always deliver the performance you’d expect from Dynastar skis. Trying them is keeping them.

What can the Dynastar Glory 84 do?

Dynastar introduces the Glory 84 as the most versatile in the line. Not too wide, not too narrow, it has the perfect shape to handle all terrains with ease. It comes with a tip and tail rocker and specific sidecuts allowing the ski to blast through powder and rip groomers with style and ease. Turn entries are smooth and intuitive, the ski feels nimble and manoeuvers like a snake regardless of the conditions. It also feels less demanding than its bigger brother the Glory 89 and it creates less muscular fatigue at the end of the day without creating less fun! You will appreciate the edge control delivered and the precision you get when carving. The construction gives the ski lots of energy allowing hards chargers to push as hard as they can. If you are more into hauling through the trees, not a problem, the skill back you up with tons of agility and floatation. In short, the Glory 84 is a ski that will make you see the mountain under a different light. Anything seems within reach, and anything is.

Who is the Dynastar Glory 84 designed for?

We recommend it to all advanced women skiers looking for a one-ski quiver. The Glory 84 does it all and delivers playful performance all around the mountain. It is a great ski that we really enjoyed during the test sessions.

Structure - Construction

  • Sandwich Structure  :

Sandwich construction is part of a quality ski. This construction layers different materials chosen for their physical characteristics depending on the characteristics needed for the ski.

  • Wood Fiber  :

Traditional sandwich technology with a wood and fiberglass core, giving the ski enormous fluidity and responsiveness. The absence of titanal sheets reduces weight significantly. The straight sidewalls ensure precise, effective transmission of the skier's movements.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Technology

  • Rocker Tip/Tail  :

Tip and tail very progressive. Both tips rise above the snow which allows an unbeatable floatation. The reduced running length of the edge provides easy pivoting and turning. Double-rocker makes big skis a lot easier to handle.

Various

  • All Mountain Profile  :

Inspired from the 5 point sidecuts coupled with a tip and tail rocker, skis deliver high performance on piste and incredibly agile off piste.

Binding technologies

  • Touring mode  :

    Walk mode for touring

  • Anti Friction Device AFD  :

All Marker bindings are equipped with a moveable AFD (anti friction device) and therefore guarantee a highly precise release almost entirely unhindered by dirt, snow and ice! Individual adjustment of the AFD to the area of application ensures perfect functionality - from racing, for children’s bindings or on ski tours.

  • Hollow Linkage Heel  :

The heel was also redesigned from the ground up to guarantee optimal retention for all types of alpine and touring soles. The aluminium hollow axle saves on weight and maximizes the torsional stiffness. This very robust heel construction is best suited for the most strenuous of requirements.

  • Triple Pivot Light  :

The newly designed, compact toe features a horizontally inserted spring. Together with the gliding plate the gliding elements integrated into the sole plates ensure a very precise release behaviour which is comparable to all other Marker bindings. Why should tourers and freestylers make any compromises? An aluminium bridge on the top provides additional support without adding any extra weight.
