Alpine Ski Dynastar Glory 89

This is the bright and shiny new Women-specific all-mountain range of Dynastar. The Glory series will hit the market in 2016 and it will most likely rock the mountain as well! Designed with versatility in mind, the skis can handle any terrain, any conditions, any slopes and always deliver the performance you’d expect from Dynastar skis. Trying them is keeping them.

What can the Dynastar Glory 89 do?

As a matter of fact, skis have gone wider in the past years. If 20 years ago it was normal to ride a 70mm waisted ski, having 90mm under the foot nowadays has become standard. To illustrate that trend, Dynastar releases the Glory 89, the widest women all-mountain ski ever made by the manufacturer. Designed to meet the needs of the most demanding skiers looking for perfect versatility, the Glory 89 delivers joy and happiness, on top of performance. The ski features a tip and tail rocker providing natural floatation and easy manoeuvering on powder. Off-piste sessions get far more interesting and progression comes along. Moreover, the ski is reinforced with titanal and feels extremely powerful and stable whatever the terrain. You can ride on steeps at warp speed or cruise and enjoy, the ski does both. On groomers, the Glory 89 offers excellent edge traction but and reactivity, but it needs a strong and aggressive skier to perform at its best.

Who is the Dynastar Glory 89 designed for?

All-mountain ski, versatile and lightweight, best suited for advanced and expert women skiers looking for a multitasker offering consistency through the whole mountain. From racing your friends on groomers to venturing in the freeride, the Glory 89 is a performer that feels home everywhere. Don't hesitate to order your usual size!

What are the main assets of the Dynastar Glory 89?

Structure - Construction

  • Sandwich Structure  :

Sandwich construction is part of a quality ski. This construction layers different materials chosen for their physical characteristics depending on the characteristics needed for the ski.

  • Wood Titanal  :

This is the Formula 1 of fibers, incorporated to guarantee superior skiability. Carbon fiber's light weight and mechanical properties are unbeatable, providing power, grip and acceleration. This fiber requires a lot of work to adapt cores and flexibility, but when mastered it offers unparalleled ski-snow contact and breathtaking performance. You'll find it exclusively in DYNASTAR's S peed Limited skis.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

  • Rocker Tip/Tail  :

Tip and tail very progressive. Both tips rise above the snow which allows an unbeatable floatation. The reduced running length of the edge provides easy pivoting and turning. Double-rocker makes big skis a lot easier to handle.

Rocker type

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.

  • All Mountain Profile  :

Inspired from the 5 point sidecuts coupled with a tip and tail rocker, skis deliver high performance on piste and incredibly agile off piste.

Binding technologies

  • Touring mode  :

    Walk mode for touring

  • Anti Friction Device AFD  :

All Marker bindings are equipped with a moveable AFD (anti friction device) and therefore guarantee a highly precise release almost entirely unhindered by dirt, snow and ice! Individual adjustment of the AFD to the area of application ensures perfect functionality - from racing, for children’s bindings or on ski tours.

  • Hollow Linkage Heel  :

The heel was also redesigned from the ground up to guarantee optimal retention for all types of alpine and touring soles. The aluminium hollow axle saves on weight and maximizes the torsional stiffness. This very robust heel construction is best suited for the most strenuous of requirements.

  • Triple Pivot Light  :

The newly designed, compact toe features a horizontally inserted spring. Together with the gliding plate the gliding elements integrated into the sole plates ensure a very precise release behaviour which is comparable to all other Marker bindings. Why should tourers and freestylers make any compromises? An aluminium bridge on the top provides additional support without adding any extra weight.
