Structure - Construction

  • Amphibio  :

The Amphibio technology is a breakthrough. A trend-setter, never a follower. Aware of possible limitations of fully rockered skis, Elan has made a step further and developed skis without the need to compromise between edge grip or easy turning. Rocker ensures full edge contact, but without full edge grip. Amphibio, on the other hand, features a cambered and a rockered edge. The botom ski with full edge contact ensures optimal edge grip, while the upper ski offers partial edge contact for easy turning.

Regular rocker profile provides easy turning but lacks full edge grip on steep and icy terrain due to shorter edge contact. Amphibio profile has different profiles of inner and outside edges that deliver no compromise between edge grip and easy turning. Bottom ski in the turn has full edge contact and provides full edge grip. Upper ski in the turn has partial edge contact and provides easy turning.

  • SST Sidewalls  :

Sidewall Construction features a vertically placed ABS material above the edges from tip to tail of the ski. Sidewall offers direct power transmission from skier foot to the edge for control and stability at speeds and provides acceleration out of the turns.

  • Fiberglass  :

Positioned either above or below the ski core, the Fibreglass reinforcement optimizes the flex pattern and enhances torsional stiffness.

  • Vaportip inserts  :

Vaportip inserts are made of advanced composite materials and integrated to the ski core in the tip and tail areas. Thses inserts help reducing the weight and the vibrations and they enhance stability for a more comfortable ride in difficult conditions.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Rocker type

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.

Binding technologies

  • Triple Pivot Elite Toe  :

The toe construction with DIN/ISO up to Z 18 allows for impressive retention when freeriding. The spring in the toe is inserted horizontally and with a sole plate inclined by 5° it provides the highest energy absorption so as to reduce the risk of early release. The large supporting surface optimizes the power transmission and allows for great stresses and strains. In relation to their weight, toes with this technology therefore achieve a never-seen-before performance.

  • Touring mode  :

    Walk mode for touring

  • Anti Friction Device AFD  :

All Marker bindings are equipped with a moveable AFD (anti friction device) and therefore guarantee a highly precise release almost entirely unhindered by dirt, snow and ice! Individual adjustment of the AFD to the area of application ensures perfect functionality - from racing, for children’s bindings or on ski tours.
