Alpine Ski Faction Agent 90 W

Last year, the Agent 90W was so much to women tourers’ liking that it returns for 2016 carrying as much versatility and lightweight in its bag.

What can the Faction Agent 90 do?

Its paulownia woodcore ensures optimal lightweight when the path points uphill while the 92mm waist provides support and versatility. The rockered tip enhances the ski floatation on deep snow while the traditional 5mm camber ensures solid edge control and stability on groomers.  The light construction and cambered profile deliver a snap and responsive feel inspiring progression.  In other words, there’s hardly anything this ski can’t do. It is the definition of a versatile ski, touring can’t get much better than this.

Who is the Faction Agent 90W designed for?

The Agent 90W mirrors the Agent 90 in terms of performance, it is a touring ski for advanced or expert women skiers looking for a versatile partner. Whether you’re up for a day in the resort or you plan to reach a summit, the Agent 90W will back you up with playfulness, lightweight and performance.

Structure - Construction

  • Bi -Axial Carbon Fibre  :

Carbon-fibre is used on our light weight Escape series skis to re-inforce the core and increase edge-hold, responsiveness and rebound.

  • Fibreglass  :

Fibreglass layers compliment the woods used, they enhance torsional stiffness, edge grip and reactivity.

  • Binding Plates  :

Phenol is a hard plastic materials used for a better hold of screws. This one-block piece allows to attach touring bindings with central screws.

  • Sandwich Construction  :

    Sandwich construction

  • STP Technology  :

The Snake Transition Project (STP) is a technology that allows a lighter ski (up to 30% lighter) and a better edge grip, without compromising torsional stiffness.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Technology

  • 5/150mm tip rocker  :

The Rocker, or reverse camber, enhances powder floatation thanks to a bigger surface of contact with the snow. By combining different degrees of rocker with a flat or normal camber, powder performance is improved while piste performance isn't affected.

    5mm rocker rising on 150mm

  • 5mm camber  :

A 5mm camber provides pop and return for a good boost when exiting the turns.

Rocker type

  • Tip rocker  :

Skis are more manoeuvrable, contact points on the skis are placed in order to reduce the effective running length, which allows easier pivot and a better float.

Various

  • 1.8mm Edges  :

Durable and reliable, featured on 99% of Faction skis.

  • Ptex-4000 die-cut bases  :

Very High density base for an excellent glide performance, wax retention, and resistance to abrasion.

Binding technologies

  • Touring mode  :

    Walk mode for touring

  • Anti Friction Device AFD  :

All Marker bindings are equipped with a moveable AFD (anti friction device) and therefore guarantee a highly precise release almost entirely unhindered by dirt, snow and ice! Individual adjustment of the AFD to the area of application ensures perfect functionality - from racing, for children’s bindings or on ski tours.

  • Hollow Linkage Heel  :

The heel was also redesigned from the ground up to guarantee optimal retention for all types of alpine and touring soles. The aluminium hollow axle saves on weight and maximizes the torsional stiffness. This very robust heel construction is best suited for the most strenuous of requirements.

  • Triple Pivot Light  :

The newly designed, compact toe features a horizontally inserted spring. Together with the gliding plate the gliding elements integrated into the sole plates ensure a very precise release behaviour which is comparable to all other Marker bindings. Why should tourers and freestylers make any compromises? An aluminium bridge on the top provides additional support without adding any extra weight.
