Alpine Ski Fischer Koa 84

Fischer’s Koas are back for the best! These all-mountain skis deliver performance on soft snow as well as on groomers, which makes them suited for skiers with ambitions. Just pick the width you prefer and enjoy your season ;)

What can the Fischer Koa 84 do?

The Fischer Koa 84 is the ski that can put a smile on your face every day, regardless of the conditions. Its 84mm waist makes it the widest Koa and therefore the most powder-friendly one. More floaty than its little brothers, the Koa 84 works well on and off piste and delivers a natural floatation on soft snow. The generous sidecuts make the ski easy to manoeuver with a solid underfoot feel and the crud-busting rockered tip offers power and versatility. The light woodcore offers agility and reactivity allowing skiers to ride through the trees or charge on groomers as they like. The ski remains for recreational users rather than for sporty riders. It’s good for laying carved turns at high speed or for cruising the resort and enjoy the view.

Who is the Fischer Koa 84 designed for?

We recommend it to intermediate and advanced women skiers looking for a technical ski. The Koa 84 delivers performance and versatility but it requires a bit of skills to be fully managed. However, you won’t find it very demanding, it turns pretty effortlessly and allows long days of fun on the slopes. It’s a good choice for women skiers who have no favorite playground but the entire mountain.

What are the main assets of the Fischer Koa 84?

Type of turns

  • Multi-turns

  • Directional (front tip)  :

The ski shape allows only a directional use.

Structure - Construction

  • Air Tec  :

Air Tec woodcore was carefully designed and set off-axis, which makes it 25% lighter without compromising gliding properties : flex and torsion remain the same.

  • Sandwich Sidewall Construction  :

Woodcore combined with ABS sidewalls in a classic sandwich construction, for a homogeneous flex and a perfect rebound.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Rocker type

  • Freeski Rocker  :

The length of the ski/snow contact surface has been shortened for easier turn initiations and less efforts required.

Binding technologies

  • Touring mode  :

The patented, ergonomically shaped lever under the boot allows comfortable opening and closing. The position prevents the binding from unwanted release and provides unparalleled security against an undesired “telemark“ situation.

  • Anti Friction Device AFD  :

All Marker bindings are equipped with a moveable AFD (anti friction device) and therefore guarantee a highly precise release almost entirely unhindered by dirt, snow and ice! Individual adjustment of the AFD to the area of application ensures perfect functionality - from racing, for children’s bindings or on ski tours.

  • Hollow Linkage Heel  :

The heel was also redesigned from the ground up to guarantee optimal retention for all types of alpine and touring soles. The aluminium hollow axle saves on weight and maximizes the torsional stiffness. This very robust heel construction is best suited for the most strenuous of requirements.

  • Triple Pivot Light  :

The compact toe features a horizontally inserted spring. Together with the gliding plate the gliding elements integrated into the sole holders ensure a very precise release behaviour which is comparable to all other MARKER bindings. Why should touring skiers and freestylers accept any compromises? An aluminium bridge on the top provides additional support without adding any extra weight.
