Alpine Ski Fischer Ranger 98 Ti

Here comes the Ranger 98 Ti again, one of the most versatile Fischer ski endowed with the partially gouge out Air Tec Ti core stiffened by a good layer of titanium and a carbon tip and tail to increase the stability and the lightness.

What can the Fischer Ranger 98 Ti ski do?

This freeride ski targets the heart of the market with its reasonable sidecut and its 98mm waist which is not too wide and not too narrow. You can ride it all winter long without having to wait for massive snowfalls. If you have the chance to ride powder-filled steeps, you will enjoy the buoyancy delivered by the Ranger 98 Ti that smashes everything on its path. Fresh powder, crud or crusty snow, this bulldozer has no fear and shreds whatever the mountain has to throw at you. This alpine freeride ski comes back to the slope without any trouble thanks to its stiff flex delivering a good edge hold and a great accuracy. The Ranger 98 Ti and its 18m radius will prefer long radius turns but if you don’t force it to turn short it will stay stable even when you crank up the speed.

Who is the Fischer Ranger 98 Ti ski designed for?

This ski is boosted with titanium so don’t expect too much forgiveness from it. The Ranger 98 Ti is designed for confirmed and expert riders looking to shred the entire mountain no matter the weather forecast.

What are the main assets of the Fischer Ranger 98 Ti ski?

Powerful

Accurate

Good buoyancy in powder.

Type of turns

  • Long turns

Shape

  • Directional (front tip)  :

The ski shape allows only a directional use.

Weight of the pair in grams

Structure - Construction

  • Aeroshape  :

Specific construction, ultra light for optimal torsional stability

  • Air Tec Ti  :

The wood core Air Tec was minutely milled and unbalanced, what allowed to relieve it of 25 % while keeping its excellent properties. A titanal layer allied to this core allows to preserve flex and stifness in twisting.

  • Carbon Nose  :

Thin tip featuring a layer of carbon enhancing both agility and stability.

  • Air Carbon Core  :

Ultra-light, ultra-strong, high-end materials based on aeronautics. Enhances performance and manoeuvrability.

  • Sandwich Sidewall Construction  :

Woodcore combined with ABS sidewalls in a classic sandwich construction, for a homogeneous flex and a perfect rebound.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Rocker type

  • Freeski Rocker  :

The length of the ski/snow contact surface has been shortened for easier turn initiations and less efforts required.

Touring Binding Marker Baron 13 EPF 110 mm Black White Silver

As the lighter cousin to the Duke with a DIN setting up 13, the Baron has earned its stripes as a favorite amongst big mountain, backcountry enthusiasts. Extended Power Frame (EPF), with its extra-wide connection to the ski, gives it the structure needed to power today's wider skis through any snow conditions, whether inside or outside the resort. The 10 mm wider drilling pattern blasts the Baron into a new stratosphere of power, with a DIN setting up 13. In addition the Baron 13 EPF also comes with Sole.ID and the easy-to-handle climbing aid.

Binding technologies

  • Triple Pivot Elite Toe  :

The toe construction with DIN/ISO up to Z 18 allows for impressive retention when freeriding. The spring in the toe is inserted horizontally and with a sole plate inclined by 5° it provides the highest energy absorption so as to reduce the risk of early release. The large supporting surface optimizes the power transmission and allows for great stresses and strains. In relation to their weight, toes with this technology therefore achieve a never-seen-before performance.

  • Anti Friction Device AFD  :

All Marker bindings are equipped with a moveable AFD (anti friction device) and therefore guarantee a highly precise release almost entirely unhindered by dirt, snow and ice! Individual adjustment of the AFD to the area of application ensures perfect functionality - from racing, for children’s bindings or on ski tours.

  • Inter-Pivot Heel  :

The stunning heel construction delivers superior holding power for free riding, featuring DIN/ISO 6-16. The Inter Pivot Heel directs the power forces in the angle of elasticity improving the holding power and reducing pre-releases.
