Alpine Ski Head Monster 98

Head unveil the new 2016-2017 Monster serie, those all-mountain super versatile skis. They are back again this year ready to attack the mountain more than ever. Still packed with graphene, a new material discovered recently, the Monster 98 is really light and still stays a reference in soft snow.

What can the Head Monster 98 ski do?

Able to play on every playgrounds, as powerful on the slopes as it is in the powder, the Head Monster 98 is an ultra versatile ski. True snow 4X4, it grips with accuracy on hard snow and gives a good kick out of turn thanks to its flat tail. The ski stays stable no matter the speed you cruise at even if it prefers long fast turns. Thanks to a useful tip rocker, turns are really intuitive. The Monster 98 reveals all its potential once on the side of the slopes or in freeride, it floats in deep thanks to its wide waist and its ERA 3.0 shape while staying light underfoot and showing a stunning handiness. Get set! As soon as the snow falls and the steeps are filled of fresh pow the Monster 98 gets aggressive and jumps in the backcountry.

Who is the Head Monster 98 ski designed for?

Quite challenging, this ski requires a good physical condition and a lot of technique to be mastered. If you are a confirmed to expert skiers you will have tons of fun with that all terrain super toy. Snowy, windy, icy, sunny, no matter the forecast the Monster 98 goes everywhere anytime.

  • Long turns

Shape

  • Directional (front tip)  :

The ski shape allows only a directional use.

Structure - Construction

  • Construction Worldcup Sandwich  :

Sandwich construction used for Worldcup skis.

  • Libra : Graphène™  :

GRAPHENE is the first crystal that is two dimensional, giving the material a unique set of properties. It is the thinnest and lightest element ever discovered by mankind. GRAPHENE is also the strongest material on the planet, stronger than diamond and 300 times stronger than steel, all in the thickness of one atom.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Technology

  • Allride Rocker  :

The brand places highly targeted amount of rocker in each model to ensure maximum performance for all ability levels. Steering is easier for all skiers and soft snow versatility is enhanced.

  • Era 3.0  :

A masterful blend of three independently important technologies to make the ultimate allcountry skis. A new era has begun.

Rocker+Radius+Rebound=Rocker Done Right : Imagine a ski that performs for everyone, anywhere.

Head Era 3.0 is not your one-dimensional "Have a problem ? Head fix it !". It's a combination of technologies, shape and geometry.

Think rocker, think radius, think rebound. Think 3-dimensional...

Rocker type

  • Tip rocker  :

Skis are more manoeuvrable, contact points on the skis are placed in order to reduce the effective running length, which allows easier pivot and a better float.

Binding technologies

  • Triple Pivot Elite Toe  :

The toe construction with DIN/ISO up to Z 18 allows for impressive retention when freeriding. The spring in the toe is inserted horizontally and with a sole plate inclined by 5° it provides the highest energy absorption so as to reduce the risk of early release. The large supporting surface optimizes the power transmission and allows for great stresses and strains. In relation to their weight, toes with this technology therefore achieve a never-seen-before performance.

  • Touring mode  :

    Walk mode for touring

  • Anti Friction Device AFD  :

All Marker bindings are equipped with a moveable AFD (anti friction device) and therefore guarantee a highly precise release almost entirely unhindered by dirt, snow and ice! Individual adjustment of the AFD to the area of application ensures perfect functionality - from racing, for children’s bindings or on ski tours.
