Alpine Ski K2 Pinnacle 95

Remember the Annex Series? Well, K2 dropped it and replaced it with their new freeride line, the Pinnacle series.

What can the K2 Pinnacle 95 do?

It is the narrowest ski in the freeride line. Its 95mm under the foot makes it perfectly suited for facing any conditions through the mountain. Like the other Pinnacles, it carries K2 latest technologies such as the Konic core made of nanoLite materials and poplar wood. The ski is lighter than ever and comes with increased manoeuverability. It is a freeride ski standing on the edge of all-mountain skiing, meaning whether you like carving the pistes at mach 10 or slashing powdery spines with style, the Pinnacle 95 does it both. It can also be used as a freetouring ski with a touring setup. The rockered profile offers enhanced floatation on deep snow and helps busting through crud and chopped snow. The only weakness it has is, the ski tends to vibrate a little bit at high speed, but nothing major.

Who is the K2 Pinnacle 95 designed for?

The Pinnacle 95 should easily please intermediate and advanced skiers. It delivers sheer pleasure all season long, from cold winter days to warm spring ones. And if you mount touring bindings on it you should be able to extend your season of a few weeks by riding the couloirs left untouched by the crowd. The ski is stable in all conditions and inspires confidence. Perfect for an everyday use.

What are the main assets of the K2 Pinnacle 95?

Versatility
All-terrain performance
Agility

Shape

  • Directional (front tip)  :

The ski shape allows only a directional use.

Structure - Construction

  • Konic Technology  : Revolutionary core design that redistributes weight to the ski's perimeter providing power, strength and stability directly over the edge for performance, while reducing swing-weight from the center and extremities for added ease and control.
  • Metal Laminate Technology  :

Built with two sheets of lightweight Titanal running the length of the ski, metal-laminate skis are the highest performing and most complex construction available from K2. Built from the base up, a metal laminate construction consists of alternating layers of fiberglass and Titanal above and below the wood core. Metal-laminates provide dampened, accurate, unshakable performance ideal for expert-level skiers.

  • Nanolite technology  :

Super lightweight, low-density, aerospace grade composite

  • Triaxial braiding  :

Triaxial braiding consists of braiding fiberglass around a wood core to provide torsional rigidity for added control. Developed in 1988 by K2 engineers, the patented triaxial braiding machine interlocks strands of fiberglass around a milled wood core. This unique method produces skis with great torsional strength, that maintains the lively flex patterns of the wood core.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Technology

  • All-Terrain Rocker  :

All-Terrain Rocker features an elevated tip for variable and soft snow performance, as well as camber underfoot for power, energy, and edge-hold in firmer conditions.

Simply put, All-Terrain Rocker offers versatility and ease in all snow conditions.

Rocker type

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.

Various

  • Tapered Tip  :

The widest point of the tip is further back on the ski, which reduces the weight of the tip and the resistance of it in soft snow.
