Line Sick Day 2017

Alpine Ski Line Sick Day 102

The Line freeride skis are worldwide well known and the Sick Day 102 is one of the most iconic model of the bunch to have a blast in freeride. This ski with a 102mm waist is endowed with a soften flex and big rocker on the tip to optimise the floatation off-piste, but it keeps a stiff flex and a flat tail that make it really powerful coming out of turns.

What can the Line Sick Day 102 ski do?

The Sick Day 102 is a pure freeride ski as we love them, made to gun down the hill straight in the steep without wondering what’s ahead. It smashes everything on its path thanks to its rockered tip, it floats in deep and turns on the spot thanks to its super modern 5 points sidecut. You will have to get up on the morning to be the first one at the chairlift for the fresh tracks, and if the forecast doesn’t like you and the pow is lacking, you can smear corduroy without a doubt. It is quite wide, I agree but it delivers a great grip and accuracy while the flat tail provides a good kick out of turns to crank up the pace even more.

Who is the Line Sick Day 102 ski designed for?

60% freeride and 40% piste, this ski is designed for intermediate to confirmed riders looking for a good freeride ski able to send it on the hardpack and gives confidence on the sad days.

Structure - Construction

  • Capwall Construction  :

A blend of Cap & Sidewall construction. Cap on the top and sidewall over the edges for a light & responsive cap-feel, with durable, solid, smooth sidewall performance.

  • Maplelite Macroblock Core  :

Solid Maple under foot with light weight Aspen at the tips for durability & reduced swing weight.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.

Various

  • 5-Cut Geometry  :

5 different sizes of sidecut radius shapes are blended into one, for intuitive control and unlimited turn shapes.

Binding technologies

  • Triple Pivot Elite Toe  :

The toe construction with DIN/ISO up to Z 18 allows for impressive retention when freeriding. The spring in the toe is inserted horizontally and with a sole plate inclined by 5° it provides the highest energy absorption so as to reduce the risk of early release. The large supporting surface optimizes the power transmission and allows for great stresses and strains. In relation to their weight, toes with this technology therefore achieve a never-seen-before performance.

  • Touring mode  :

    Walk mode for touring

  • Anti Friction Device AFD  :

All Marker bindings are equipped with a moveable AFD (anti friction device) and therefore guarantee a highly precise release almost entirely unhindered by dirt, snow and ice! Individual adjustment of the AFD to the area of application ensures perfect functionality - from racing, for children’s bindings or on ski tours.
