Alpine Ski Rossignol Sin 7

Remember the 7 Series? Probably one of the most successful series of all times, the skis were a true revolution in the freeride industry. They were so good that Rossignol continued the series for 2016, allowing skiers to push their limits further.

What can the Rossignol Sin 7 do?

The Sin 7 returns unmolested. Same specs, same construction and new graphics. Forget about the red colour and say hello to a gorgeous apple-green ski. Designed to devour the entire mountain, the Sin 7 is a freeride performer that is going to give you a blast. Highly versatile, you’ll appreciate the traditional underfoot camber giving the ski more edge control and rebound on hard snow with tons of stability at high speed. No matter how hard you push them, they will answer harder. The woodcore provides the pop and the reactivity needed to link solid turns through the deep while the 98mm waist ensures support and floatation. The tip and tail rockers make this floaty feel even more natural and allow the ski to manoeuver effortlessly, allowing tree runs as well as wide and steep powdery fields. And the best thing about it is, the Sin 7 isn’t that heavy or hard to control. It doesn’t require iron legs and that is good!

Who is the Rossignol Sin 7 designed for?

Best suited for intermediate and advanced skiers looking for optimal versatility. The ski can carve groomers and slash powder with the same power. Ideal if you want just one ski to ride the whole mountain.

What are the main assets of the Rossignol Sin 7?

Structure - Construction

  • Air Tip  : A Patented Technology exclusive to Rossignol! The tip is air filled for maximum lightness and constructed to retain maximum torsional rigidity. The ski's weight is redistributed, freeing the tip and tail of the ski and providing greater ease, security and versatility. The fact that the center of gravity is closer to the center of the ski concentrates strength under the skier's feet. THE ROCKER REVOLUTION IS HERE!!!
  • Fiberglass / Wood core  :

The fiberglass structure enhances flex and stiffness, increases resistance to torsion, and improves boosts on turn exits.

The wood provides stability and rebound, eliminates vibrations, and has a great durability.

  • Diagonal fibreglass weave
  • VAS  :

Vibration Absorption System Visco elastomer material integrated into the ski's construction to dampen vibrations, adding greater control, stability, and contact with the snow.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

  • Powder Turn Rocker  :

Rossignol's Powder Turn is engineered with 50% low camber underfoot while the remaining 50% of the tip and tail features high rocker. The camber underfoot delivers power, energy, and edge grip for groomed snow. The high rocker tip produces more floatation and effortless powder skiing. The high rockered tail is pin shaped to allow skier to have an efficient angle of attack providing easy steering and instant speed control. The 50/50 rocker/camber combination is the most versatile from pow to groomers.

Rocker type

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.

  • OPEN  :

OPEN models can be mounted with telemark or touring bindings.

Binding technologies

  • Triple Pivot Elite Toe  :

The toe construction with DIN/ISO up to Z 18 allows for impressive retention when freeriding. The spring in the toe is inserted horizontally and with a sole plate inclined by 5° it provides the highest energy absorption so as to reduce the risk of early release. The large supporting surface optimizes the power transmission and allows for great stresses and strains. In relation to their weight, toes with this technology therefore achieve a never-seen-before performance.

  • Anti Friction Device AFD  :

All Marker bindings are equipped with a moveable AFD (anti friction device) and therefore guarantee a highly precise release almost entirely unhindered by dirt, snow and ice! Individual adjustment of the AFD to the area of application ensures perfect functionality - from racing, for children’s bindings or on ski tours.

  • Inter-Pivot Heel  :

The stunning heel construction delivers superior holding power for free riding, featuring DIN/ISO 6-16. The Inter Pivot Heel directs the power forces in the angle of elasticity improving the holding power and reducing pre-releases.

Best skis I've used. Great on piste, even better off piste. Not good in crud because they're so light and flexible. Short turn radius and good stability at high speed. Service from Glisshop was exceptional and can't find a better price!

Fantastic skis that were easier than anything else i have tried in this category on the piste, but were still more than up to some fresh snow fun.

Great ski, the honeycomb tips allow you to initiate turns easier. I feel much more confident allowing the ski to cut through the crud. Very good on the hard snow and carves well. Floats well on the powder too, a perfect all mountain ski. Looks good too!! Super rapid delivery from Glisshop ! Very happy.

I was looking for a do-it-all ski for resort skiing. I wasn't disappointed with my choice of the Sin 7. The skis took me everywhere I wanted with a lively playfulness which encouraged me to get over more of the mountain. As a piste ski, they were a little sketchy on the steepest, icy blacks, but the way they handled moguls, crud and powder was fantastic. I expected a bit of tip flap at speed on piste, but this wasn't very noticable. I am a heavy skier, at 100kg, but the 188 length kept me up in the powder with a little unweighting of the tips. In conclusion, very happy with my choice. My only reservation is the cool matt black stealth finish. They mark easily and will have you glaring at people in the lift queue when they run over the tails!
