Alpine Ski Salomon QST 106

Salomon reveals its new QST 106 ski, a mid-fat freeride hyper versatile which dethrones the old Rocker2 and Q series. True multipurpose ski, this modern freeride ski has all the new technological innovations: titanium reinforcing for more stiffness, Twin Rocker for more handiness on every snow conditions and light tips for a better approach.

What can the Salomon QST 106 ski do?

Merging the Backside and Gravity ski ranges, Salomon comes out with a new QST 106 with an impressive radius. What a pleasure to drop in any runs without investigating the snow conditions and knowing you will pass everywhere for sure. In deep you will discover a powerful and robust ski which floats without effort. The double rocker keeps it on the surface allowing its owner to enjoy its handling to lay trenches everywhere. The QST 106 is also surprising on heavy, crusty or crud snow. You can go everywhere even on slopes. Despite its 106mm waist, the edge to edge transitions happen really intuitively and the ski offers a great edge hold, you can even carve GS turns without problem.

Who is the Salomon QST 106 ski designed for?

This new generation ski is quite demanding and designed for confirmed to expert skiers looking for a powder ski shaped for big powder days and want to have fun on slopes some time.

What are the main assets of the Salomon QST 106 ski?

Versatile

Huge floatation

Touring Binding Marker Baron 13 EPF 110 mm Black White Silver

As the lighter cousin to the Duke with a DIN setting up 13, the Baron has earned its stripes as a favorite amongst big mountain, backcountry enthusiasts. Extended Power Frame (EPF), with its extra-wide connection to the ski, gives it the structure needed to power today's wider skis through any snow conditions, whether inside or outside the resort. The 10 mm wider drilling pattern blasts the Baron into a new stratosphere of power, with a DIN setting up 13. In addition the Baron 13 EPF also comes with Sole.ID and the easy-to-handle climbing aid.

Binding technologies

  • Triple Pivot Elite Toe  :

The toe construction with DIN/ISO up to Z 18 allows for impressive retention when freeriding. The spring in the toe is inserted horizontally and with a sole plate inclined by 5° it provides the highest energy absorption so as to reduce the risk of early release. The large supporting surface optimizes the power transmission and allows for great stresses and strains. In relation to their weight, toes with this technology therefore achieve a never-seen-before performance.

  • Anti Friction Device AFD  :

All Marker bindings are equipped with a moveable AFD (anti friction device) and therefore guarantee a highly precise release almost entirely unhindered by dirt, snow and ice! Individual adjustment of the AFD to the area of application ensures perfect functionality - from racing, for children’s bindings or on ski tours.

  • Inter-Pivot Heel  :

The stunning heel construction delivers superior holding power for free riding, featuring DIN/ISO 6-16. The Inter Pivot Heel directs the power forces in the angle of elasticity improving the holding power and reducing pre-releases.
