Alpine Ski Salomon QST 92

This new Salomon QST range is really surprising. If the fat skis are amazing in powder, this QST 92 is a supercharged all-mountain ski ready to tackle the slopes and get out of the beaten path with its 92mm waist and its tip rocker to go and play on every terrains.

What can the Salomon QST 92 ski do?

We have here the stiffest and most powerful ski of the new Backside all-mountain ski serie. The QST 92 allows to slay big lines on slopes and offers a perfect edge hold at high speed. With its classical camber, the effective edge is long enough to push the limits of the ski on any snow conditions. It was a true challenge for Salomon to come up with this QST 92 as playful as powerful in fresh powder. Its waist is only 92mm wide but its tapered shape and its tip rocker allow it to float in deep naturally. How can you not appreciate the light koroyd tip which absorb terrain asperities to deliver a great comfort on crud and crusty snow. The QST 92 is the perfect ski to enjoy big powder days and lay trenches on every virgin faces of the mountain.

Who is the Salomon QST 92 ski designed for?

With this ski you have room for improvement or you have a great physical condition. We advice this snappy all-mountain ski for confirmed to expert skiers. Get ready to tame the beast and drop in powder-filled steeps at Mach 2 with the QST 92.

Weight of the pair in grams

  • 3360g en 177cm

Structure - Construction

  • CFX Superfiber  :

Ultra light, ultra strong, with better dampening

  • Reverse 3D woodcore  :

Woodcore bringing stability and optimal energy return, ski/snow contact is enhanced with less vibrations.

  • 360° full sandwich  :

Full Sandwich construction with integrated tip to tail ABS sidewalls for enhanced ski/snow contact feel, durability and all terrain versatility.

  • Honeycomb structured tips  :

Tips are ultralight and offer a better floatability. Less swing weight for added manoeuverability et more control. Better dampening and durability.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Technology

  • All-Terrain Rocker 2.0  :

    Absorption of terrain variations

70% of the ski is in contact with the snow when it sits flat on the ground. 90% of it is in contact with the snow when it is on the edges.

Rocker type

  • Tip rocker  :

Skis are more manoeuvrable, contact points on the skis are placed in order to reduce the effective running length, which allows easier pivot and a better float.

Various

  • Hook Free  :

Tapered shape, 5 point sidecuts, allows easier turn initiations on soft snow, tip and tail don't catch snow. The tip vibrates less.

  • Extended transfert plateform  :

A wide integrated Aluminium plate embedded in rubber, for direct feedback from the terrain and better power transmission.

  • Heel protection
  • Pulse PAD  :

A layer of rubber along the edges and in certain zones of the ski for smoother ride and improved ski-snow contact.

  • Gentle Rise Tail  :

Gentle rise of the tail for more forgiveness and more control in all conditions

Binding technologies

  • Touring mode  :

The patented, ergonomically shaped lever under the boot allows comfortable opening and closing. The position prevents the binding from unwanted release and provides unparalleled security against an undesired “telemark“ situation.

  • Anti Friction Device AFD  :

All Marker bindings are equipped with a moveable AFD (anti friction device) and therefore guarantee a highly precise release almost entirely unhindered by dirt, snow and ice! Individual adjustment of the AFD to the area of application ensures perfect functionality - from racing, for children’s bindings or on ski tours.

  • Hollow Linkage Heel  :

The heel was also redesigned from the ground up to guarantee optimal retention for all types of alpine and touring soles. The aluminium hollow axle saves on weight and maximizes the torsional stiffness. This very robust heel construction is best suited for the most strenuous of requirements.

  • Triple Pivot Light  :

The compact toe features a horizontally inserted spring. Together with the gliding plate the gliding elements integrated into the sole holders ensure a very precise release behaviour which is comparable to all other MARKER bindings. Why should touring skiers and freestylers accept any compromises? An aluminium bridge on the top provides additional support without adding any extra weight.
