Alpine Ski Salomon Rocker2 122

Salomon has 3 skis making the Gravity series, designed for freestyle/backcountry skiing.  The Rocker2 122 stands on the top of the line, it is the widest and the most impressive one, designed for holy powder days.

What can the Rocker2 122 do?

The ski is for aspiring riders who ski one thing. Powder. The deeper the better. The Rocker2 122 is Salomon’s ultimate weapon for happiness.  Its generous 122mm waist provides support and float and shape up the ski for riders with ambitions. Featuring a twin rocker built on a honeycomb structure and a tapered shape, the ski will give you a blast on the deep.

Who is the Rocker2 122 designed for?

Considering its sidecuts and its freeride aspirations, the ski requires at least an advanced or expert level to be managed. If you have that and strong legs, you’ll have fun with it. The pivot is pretty intuitive and makes the ski quite agile. On hard snow the ski behaves even if it’s not its favorite playground. Its remains quite stable and you might even be able to carve a few turns if your legs are made of iron. In the end, the Rocker2 122 is a freeride gem, it is not the ski you will ride every day, but when conditions are great, you’ll be stoked to ride it.

What are the main assets of the Salomon Rocker2 122 ?

Floatation
Powder performance
Underfoot power

Shape

  • Bidirectional (twin tip)  :

The ski shape allows to ski forward or backward.

Weight of the pair in grams

  • 4900 en 192cm

Structure - Construction

  • Honeycomb  :

Super light honeycomeb construction in the tip and tail extremeties reduces inertia to make the ski more maneuverable and playful. Reinforced with an ABS frame for durability.

  • 100% wood core from tip to tail  :

Provides optimum stability and powerful rebounce. Better contact ski/snow and reduces vibrations.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Technology

  • Twin rocker  :

550mm or reverse camber at the tip and the tail. Designed for freestylers, the Twin rocker solution eases rotations and spins on snow or in the air.

Rocker type

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.

Various

  • Hook Free  :

Tapered shape, 5 point sidecuts, allows easier turn initiations on soft snow, tip and tail don't catch snow. The tip vibrates less.

  • Edge Free extremities  :

No edges in the tip or tail area of the ski provide more fluid gliding in powder because edges don't hang up and weight is reduced.
