Alpine Ski Scott Reverse

Scott unveils their new Sun Valley lineup, including all-terrain skis blending innovation and performance wrapped in a vintage look.

What can the Scott Reverse do?

The Reverse is hungry for groomed snow and devours black and red runs for breakfast. Souped up with a Venturi Tip S reducing the contact surface thanks to a concave profile while reinforcing torsional stiffness, the ski performs like no other. The Reverse can link full speed carved arcs with precision and strong edge hold. Edge to edge transfers are really quick and will make you want to push harder and harder on your legs. But the Reverse really thrives with its versatility. If it performs on pistes like an alpine ski, it rides powder like a freerider. Its profile maximises agility on soft snow while the rocker helps absorbing vibrations and impacts, making the ride smoother and more enjoyable. If you're looking for a ski that will allow you to carve on pistes and lay your tracks on the untouched then the Reverse is a safe bet.

Who is the Scott Reverse designed for?

The Reverse is a great ski for all intermediates and advanced skiers looking for optimal versatility and all-terrain fun. Great choice if your mission for 2016 is to ski every sides of the mountain.

What are the main assets of the Scott Reverse ?

Structure - Construction

  • Sandwich construction with slanted sidewalls and elliptic laminates  : FORGIVENESS & VERSATILITY - SSCL combines a laminate top and bottom sheet with a traditional sandwich sidewall construction. SCOTT optimized material usage to provide a construction that drastically reduces the weight of the ski. Specific braiding and different combinations of laminates guarantee the best possible construction for their intended use.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Technology

  • Venturi Rocker tip and tail  :

Venturi-Tip Rocker combines a hollowed tip with a rocker shape. The resulting Venturi-Tip Rocker design allows for great float and better tracking, yielding a highly versatile performer in variable conditions.

  • Venturi-Tip Rocker S  :

Venturi-Tip Rocker combines a hollowed tip with a rocker shape. The resulting Venturi-Tip Rocker design allows for great float and better tracking, yielding a highly versatile performer in variable conditions.

    +Excellent float and turn initiation

+Offers stability at high speeds in all conditions

+Reduces surface pressure resulting in improved ski handling

Rocker type

  • Tip rocker  :

Skis are more manoeuvrable, contact points on the skis are placed in order to reduce the effective running length, which allows easier pivot and a better float.

Various

  • Dual Radius  :

Traditional skis have a fixed radius that determines the length of every turn. SCOTT skis combine two radii (dual radius) to create the sidecut or “shape” of the ski. By incorporating the Dual Radius concept, the ski can turn when you want it to turn, resulting in a more versatile ski which is not confined to one type of skiing or terrain.

  • Factory Finish  :

SCOTT skis come direct from the factory "ready to ski" with SCOTT factory finish. Every factory finished ski leaves the factory with side edges ground at 89° and base edges ground between 0.5° and 0.8° for exceptional performance. The base is finished with a micro structured CNC stone grind so you can mount your skis and hit the hill, no tuning required.

  • Pre Track  :

When developing Pre-Track, SCOTT designed skis with wide tips and/or slightly turned up tails. With Pre-Track, SCOTT skis employ a smaller effective edge for short radius turns on groomed slopes and a longer effective edge when making bigger turns or skiing off-piste. The result is a more precise, stable, reliable and versatile ski.

Binding technologies

  • Touring mode  :

    Walk mode for touring

  • Anti Friction Device AFD  :

All Marker bindings are equipped with a moveable AFD (anti friction device) and therefore guarantee a highly precise release almost entirely unhindered by dirt, snow and ice! Individual adjustment of the AFD to the area of application ensures perfect functionality - from racing, for children’s bindings or on ski tours.

  • Hollow Linkage Heel  :

The heel was also redesigned from the ground up to guarantee optimal retention for all types of alpine and touring soles. The aluminium hollow axle saves on weight and maximizes the torsional stiffness. This very robust heel construction is best suited for the most strenuous of requirements.

  • Triple Pivot Light  :

The newly designed, compact toe features a horizontally inserted spring. Together with the gliding plate the gliding elements integrated into the sole plates ensure a very precise release behaviour which is comparable to all other Marker bindings. Why should tourers and freestylers make any compromises? An aluminium bridge on the top provides additional support without adding any extra weight.
