Alpine Ski Volkl Kendo

The Kendo stays once again the reference at Volkl. Narrower than the Mantra, but has a similar construction except a classic camber while its big brother has a reverse camber. The Kendo is more efficient on the slopes and less in powder.

What can the Volkl Kendo ski do?

The Kendo is one of the most versatile ski out there. Its 90mm waist is not too wide and not too narrow. Thanks to its classic camber, this ski offers a great edge hold on hard snow, on the steepest terrains and even on ice. The athletics riders will love the titanium reinforcement that brings a good stiffness and allows you to attack to the max. Concerning its radius, it is versatile enough to ride big lines intuitively. The strength of the Kendo is also its double rocker and its ability to drop in powder whenever. Without being a true freeride ski, the Kendo is super fun on the side of the slopes and to ride shortcuts down to the village. You will then discover new lines and spots on the mountain and have tons of fun like never before.

Who is the Volkl Kendo ski designed for?

The Kendo might be a japanese martial art but at Volkl it is an insane and fearless all-mountain ski. The perfect weapon for technical riders looking for a balanced ski between soft and hard snow. The Kendo is the perfect solution to ride all winter long with the same pair of skis. All this with a quality made in Germany.

What are the main assets of the Volkl Kendo ski?

Structure - Construction

  •  :

Strength and efficiency. A simple process you can always count on.

  • Multi Layer Woodcore  :

Völkl freeskiing models feature a multi-layer wood core with two different densities of wood. In the binding attachment area, a dense, ash core is used, while in the rest of the ski, the core is poplar. The more dense wood creates secure screw retention and stability, while the softer poplar section allows for resilience and snap. The flex pattern can be tailored to each ski model to match the desired performance characteristics.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Technology

  • Tip & Tail Rocker  :

The ski has a variable edge length in the shovel and tail areas. The rocker height is minimal. The variable edge set between the shovel and tail makes the ski turn-happy. That in turn allows for a stiffer flex setup. A longer ski can be selected.

Rocker type

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.

Binding technologies

  • Touring mode  :

    Walk mode for touring

  • Anti Friction Device AFD  :

All Marker bindings are equipped with a moveable AFD (anti friction device) and therefore guarantee a highly precise release almost entirely unhindered by dirt, snow and ice! Individual adjustment of the AFD to the area of application ensures perfect functionality - from racing, for children’s bindings or on ski tours.

  • Hollow Linkage Heel  :

The heel was also redesigned from the ground up to guarantee optimal retention for all types of alpine and touring soles. The aluminium hollow axle saves on weight and maximizes the torsional stiffness. This very robust heel construction is best suited for the most strenuous of requirements.

  • Triple Pivot Light  :

The newly designed, compact toe features a horizontally inserted spring. Together with the gliding plate the gliding elements integrated into the sole plates ensure a very precise release behaviour which is comparable to all other Marker bindings. Why should tourers and freestylers make any compromises? An aluminium bridge on the top provides additional support without adding any extra weight.
