Alpine Ski Volkl Mantra

The legendary Volkl Mantra returns for another season. This powder-inspired all-mountain ski features a generous 100mm waist and reverse camber with two rockers in the tip and the tail. Only the graphics vary compared to the previous version and it’s a good thing because nobody wanted to see this performer change!

What can the Volkl Mantra ski do?

This is versatility at its best, a true swiss army knife with modern sidecuts and a banana camber ensuring optimal buoyancy and agility on powder. The ski floats naturallty and turns on a dime no matter how deep it gets. It moves between trees and obstacles as if it was easy and lets you lay short or long turns as you like. Despite its huge sidecuts the ski doesn’t feel bulky and blasts though any terrain. And if powder is definitely its favorite playground, you have nothing to worry about when riding off it. It’s strong and it grips super hard on groomed snow, it’s stable, playful and comfortable, pretty close to being perfect in all honesty. Riders looking for the ultimate do-it-all everyday shredder can stop looking. The only downside (even if it’s not really one for everyone) is its super long turning radius. You’re not on a slalom ski and laying short turns requires technique and strength. If you’re not too sure, better avoid the most crowded slopes and go have fun in the wild, it’s just an advice.

Who is the Volkl Mantra designed for?

The Mantra is targetting sporty riders with an advanced level who want a mountain charger on their feet. This all-mountain ski comes with a 100mm underfoot platform which makes it a great powder stick with a beefy construction making it versatile and capable of handling harder snow conditions. It’s an absolute blast.

What are the main assets of the Volkl Mantra ski?

Structure - Construction

  •  :

Strength and efficiency. A simple process you can always count on.

  • Multi Layer Woodcore  :

Völkl freeskiing models feature a multi-layer wood core with two different densities of wood. In the binding attachment area, a dense, ash core is used, while in the rest of the ski, the core is poplar. The more dense wood creates secure screw retention and stability, while the softer poplar section allows for resilience and snap. The flex pattern can be tailored to each ski model to match the desired performance characteristics.

Camber type

  • Flat camber  :

Enhances ski pivot without compromising edge control on hard snow.

  • Full Rocker  :

The running length of the edge can vary at the fore part of the ski. The rocker rises moderately. The running length under the binding provides an efficient floatation better than the one found on wider skis.

Rocker type

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.

Binding technologies

  • Triple Pivot Elite Toe  :

The toe construction with DIN/ISO up to Z 18 allows for impressive retention when freeriding. The spring in the toe is inserted horizontally and with a sole plate inclined by 5° it provides the highest energy absorption so as to reduce the risk of early release. The large supporting surface optimizes the power transmission and allows for great stresses and strains. In relation to their weight, toes with this technology therefore achieve a never-seen-before performance.

  • Touring mode  :

    Walk mode for touring

  • Anti Friction Device AFD  :

All Marker bindings are equipped with a moveable AFD (anti friction device) and therefore guarantee a highly precise release almost entirely unhindered by dirt, snow and ice! Individual adjustment of the AFD to the area of application ensures perfect functionality - from racing, for children’s bindings or on ski tours.
