Description

The Click Up from Climbing Tech is a mechanical assisted braking belay device, ideal for sport climbing. It has been a best-seller since it came out in 2012. To compare with devices offered by Petzl, it can be placed between the Grigri and Reverso. It offers both the comfort and safety of one with the smoothness and simplicity of the other. Compact and lightweight, it allows to belay a leader or someone top roping. It enables to quickly and smoothly give slack and to stop a fall by tightening your grip on the brake-side rope. It has the advantage of allowing to achieve a dynamic catch, which is not the case with lock-assisted devices.  

It the rope is incorrectly installed, for instance if you have not followed the instruction on the device and have inverted the ropes sides, the V-shaped friction notches still guarantee efficient belaying.

Climbing Tech supplies the Click Up with a dedicated carabiner, the Concept SGL HC. The Click Up device must absolutely be used with this particular carabiner, as it is specifically designed to be the most efficient and safest with this system. Furthermore, it features a wear-resistant anodising and is designed to prevent the possibility of minor-axis cross-loading.
