Description

The Petzl Grigri + belay device is an assisted cam-locking system designed to secure both lead climbing and top-rope climbing, whether indoors or on the crag. It stands out thanks to its lockable selector lever, allowing you to choose between two belaying modes: one for lead climbing and one for top-roping, making it particularly suitable for progressive use and learning. The top-rope mode is optimised to facilitate slack take-up and enhance belaying comfort. In the event of a fall or when resting, rope tension activates the cam, which pivots and automatically locks the rope. The stainless steel reinforcement plate increases durability against repeated handling. Its ergonomic handle features an anti-panic system that halts descent if pulled too hard. The 3:1 mechanical advantage ensures precise control over rope feed, regardless of diameter. Compatible with single dynamic ropes from 8.5 to 11 mm (optimised between 8.9 and 10.5 mm), this Grigri + maintains the familiar handling of Petzl devices and offers generous braking-hand compliance for controlled, reassuring belaying.
