Leatt has its origins in motocross. In 2001, Chris Leatts witnesses the death of his friend and riding partner Alan Selby. It then starts to work on finding a solution to reduce the risk of neck injuries. In 2004, he develops the first Leatt neck brace. In 2005, he creates Leatt Company. Today, the brand offers protective gear and apparel for motocross and mountain biking.
