This was and remains a high-performance skating ski designed by the austrian manufacturer. The 2018 version returns with a new cosmetic upgrade but its construction is unchanged. The only new thing is the binding interface. Now featuring a IFP plate instead of a NIS one, the only binding you can mount on the ski is the new Turnamic binding.
What can the Fischer Carbonlite Skate H-Plus Stiff IFP ski do?
The Carbonlite Skate has brought performance a notch higher in the world of skating. The ski features the same construction as the Speedmax ski. Ultra Light honeycomb core, fibreglass reinforcements and carbon tip and tail for maximal performance. The stiff camber is Fischer’s stiffest offer but it’s also the most versatile as it is extremely efficient on hard snow. The ski feels very lively and maneuvers with precision through technical terrains. The carbon tips makes pushing easier. The only difference with the Speedmax is the manufacturing process of the base. Speaking about the base, the Plus is the most versatile one as it is designed to perform between -5°C and +2°C which are the most common temperatures. In terms of skiability, even if we just said the camber was the stiffest in Fischer’s line, don’t be intimidated. The ski remains forgiving and feels very stable when it glides. It’s very pleasant and allows any skier to have fun with it. Finally, the IFP plate is designed to work with the new Turnamic bindings. These bindings work with NNN, Prolink and Turnamic boots. Only SNS standards do not work with it.
Who is the Fischer Carbonlite Skate H-Plus Stiff IFP cross-country ski designed for?
If the Carbonlite is not Fischer’s ultimate weapon anymore (it is the Speedmax), it remains a performance-focused ski offering forgiveness and stability. Slightly cheaper than the Speedmax, it delivers similar performance and remains one of the best skate skis in the world. Whether you’re a racer or a regular skier, if you want a high-end technical ski, the Carbonlite will make you happy.
