Description

The Free Thinker is one of the two pro-models of the American snowboarder Danny Davis. The other is the Deep Thinker, designed for freeride and powder, while the Free Thinker is designed for the piste and snowpark.

What is the program of the Burton Free Thinker snowboard?

The Free Thinker has a construction that offers maximum pop, thanks to a carbon-reinforced wood shell and a classic camber that is well marked. This makes it an explosive ollie board, but it's still fun to ride and with enough spatula flexibility to place press and enjoy yourself on the flat surface. The camber provides a very good grip on the track, for engaging in sharp turns and to secure the grip on a kicker. Finally, the perfectly symmetrical shape and the well centered position of the feet allows you to switch without problems, providing maximum options for freestyle. It's really the best way to send you into the snowpark but also to make nice speed peaks on the slopes.

Who is the Burton Free Thinker snowboard for?

Aimed at experienced or expert snowboarders, this model will please freestyle enthusiasts but also snowboarders who are used to twin-tip boards and now just looking to be able to ride hard on the slopes.

What are the main qualities of the Burton Free Thinker snowboard?

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
