Description

Even more directional than the Flight Attendant, the Burton FT Hometown Hero offers great smoothness in alpine style and on any terrain. Its 40 mm setback (the inserts are positioned 4 cm toward the back) improves the control of the back foot to lift the nose easily in pow and initiate easily your turns. The flex, profile and shape of the board are also directional, for the same effect: you can turn and lift better. The front rocker absorbs everything and the classic camber provides good grip in carving and offers stability in the turns. Finally, the flex between medium and stiff gives you responsiveness and stability, without destroying your legs after three turns either. Able to ride anywhere and offering a good balance between performance and accessibility, this board will satisfy advanced/experts snowboarders who want to enjoy any condition on a wide range of terrains for freeride and backcountry freestyle riding, discover lots of spots in the resort, while having some comfort to ride all day long.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
