The Jones Frontier Split is an efficient yet accessible splitboard. It offers great versatility and comfort on all types of snow, allowing to ride anywhere and even ensures some playfulness to do some freestyle.

What is the program of the Jones Frontier Split snowboard?

The Frontier Split features a slightly directional shape, a camber + rocker profile and forgiving flex. On the snow, these characteristics translate by an accessible, playful and versatile board, efficient on all types of snow with very good handling in turns. The Traction Tech edges ensure good grip, allowing secure edging on hardpack. The Classic V-Core offers pop between the feet and the board features very lightweight Karakoram Ultra Clips 2.0 joining clips. The Boltless Bridge eliminates the presence of hardware on the base side and improves the board’s torsional stiffness for an even better behaviour in the descents. The Karakoram Ultra Clips 2.0 is made from sustainable materials such as bio sourced glue and wax, recycled edges and sidewalls or a bioplastic top sheet.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
