Snowboard Box Knife

The Box Knife from Lib Tech is one of the two pro models used by snowboarder Jesse Burtner. It is more technical, with a camber that has more bite than the Box Scratcher. It should be favoured for efficiency in a performance freestyle use. Yet it remains playful and its well-balanced flex allows to have fun. It is also sustainably made in the Mervin plant in the United States.

What is the program of the Lib Tech Box Knife snowboard?

The Box Knife features a C3 camber, a substantial classic camber, offering lots of pop and grip. You still will be able to enjoy side hits, with enough technique, you can do slashes in shallow powder. The wood core reinforced by glass fibre adds responsiveness to the board, the firm tips require more precision. Finally, its twin-tip shape improves its playfulness and your freestyle creativity and allows to ride switch.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.

Is my board ready-to-use ?

The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

How to maintain your equipment ?

Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
