Description

The Lib Tech Orca Split is the splitboard version of the Orca. Designed to provide maximum control, floatability and manoeuvrability in pow, this is a backcountry model to take out each time the conditions are here.

What is the program of the Lib Tech Orca Split snowboard?

Featuring a very directional shape, generous front tip, tapered tail with a unique shape and very setback stance, the Orca Split is cut to offer maximum floatability and manoeuvrability in its natural habitat: pow! Turns link together effortlessly and lift is immediate, no matter the amount of snow. To retain optimum nimbleness, it is recommended to pick a size 3 to 6 cm shorter than your usual board size. Its C2X camber is here to improve precision and control, while playing a role in the floatability, thanks to the alternating areas of classic and reverse camber. Both in the ascents and descents, it provides efficient grip on hardpack. It is just a matter of exploring the resort to discover beautiful hidden places only accessible to adventurers.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
