Description

The Nitro Magnum features a directional shape with a wide format, which is wider than average. It is designed to meet the needs of snowboarders with big feet, whose boots touch the snow when they take a lot of angles in turns with a normal size board. The directional shape is designed for freeride or all-mountain, offering great manoeuvrability and precision on varied terrains. Note that it is part of Nitro's Carver Crue range, which includes high-performance carving boards.

What does the Nitro Magnum snowboard offer?

The Magnum has a wood core that offers a firm flex without being too stiff. It offers great performance in terms of reactivity and stability while remaining comfortable to ride, especially thanks to the ease of entry into the curve provided by the back foot position. It is versatile and can be ridden on groomed slopes as well as off-piste in powder. It goes from carved turns to slashes between the trees with ease, allowing you to take advantage of everything the resort has to offer in terms of conditions and terrain.

Who is the Nitro Magnum snowboard for?

We recommend this model to snowboarders with big feet (44 and over) and a rather advanced level. In terms of style, it is suitable for all-mountain/freeride and curve enthusiasts.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
