Description

The Nitro Santoku is an incredibly versatile board, capable of evolving all over the resort combining great performance on the piste, serious snowpark skills, while offering enough flotation allowing for a few short off-piste excursions. This versatility is due to its top-of-the-range construction and its all-terrain Twin-Tip shape, which we'll dissect below.

What is the program of the Nitro Santoku snowboard?

With a classic camber and a Power Core Lite shell offering stability and bounce, the Santoku can only excel on the piste. The Santoku provides a very good grip even on hard snow and remains stable when you pick up speed. Thanks to carbon reinforcements in the spatula area, you get maximum bounce in curves, a bounce that turns into an explosive pop during your ollies. Thus, in the snowpark, you're at the controls of a board that's dynamic and playful, and which allows you to feel comfortable switching thanks to its symmetrical shape. Finally, the volume and the shape of its spatulas are the secret components that allows the Santoku to have a very correct exit in powder snow, thus allowing for nice little runs on the edges of the piste and between the pines.

Who is the Nitro Santoku snowboard for?

We recommend this model to experienced or expert snowboarders looking to be able to ride all over the resort, set the pace during descents and send tricks in the park. They will appreciate the top of the range manufacturing of this board, from the excellent weight/power ratio of the core to the quality of the Sintered 2.0 Speed Formula sole and the dynamism of the carbon-reinforced spatulas.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
