Description

The Marauder is only available in size 154 and with a rather unusual width of 272 mm. Short and ultra-wide, this shape allows for a lot of Manoeuvrability while maintaining an exceptional bearing capacity in powder. This is the funboard format, which can also be found in other brands such as the K2 brand with the Cool Bean. A kind of board that is deliberately selected with a shorter length than its usual board size to fully benefit from its Manoeuvrable nature.

What is the programme of the Borealis Marauder snowboard?

With the Marauder, you will be able to enjoy some of the most fun areas of snowboarding. Side-hits, backcountry, runs between the pines, an ocean of powder, these are the main objectives of the Borealis Marauder. The short size, set back feet and accessible flex allow you to take curves super easily. The width of the board and the length and rocker of its front spatula offer unlimited flotation. In addition, there's a high-density sole for super glide, as well as a fairly long curve radius and a classic camber that allows you to regain stability when riding on the track!

Who is the Borealis Marauder snowboard intended for?

The Marauder is designed for snowboarders looking for fun and excitement when riding on the edges of the piste and in powder snow. It is accessible from the intermediate/confirmed level thanks to its relatively soft flex, but will also impress the most experienced riders thanks to its fluidity and its functionalities in powder.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
