Description

Burton’s freeride ranges are as lively as their boards! The technical innovations of these past few years have led to the creation of more and more efficient boards. With its unique shape, the Burton Skeleton Key truly embodies this evolution and it’s now one of the best Burton Family Tree models.

What can the Burton 2018 Skeleton Key snowboard do?

This versatile freeride board features a modern construction and traditional camber that deliver remarkable edge hold and make it feel stable and reassuring on the hardpack. Don’t worry, we know you didn’t pick a freeride board to spend your days cruising the groomers. Burton have you covered with the Skeleton Key. Its unique profile is the guarantee of class-leading control: the mid wide shape and nose rocker ensure you 5-star floatation on powder while the tail rocker guarantees you ultra precise steering. If you’re looking for versatility, you won’t be disappointed by the 218 Skeleton Key! It will become your best ally to charge fast on the pistes and to draw your own lines on the untouched as well.

Who is the Burton 2018 Skeleton Key snowboard designed for?

This freeride model is targeting intermediate and advanced snowboarders looking for an easy-to-ride board to enjoy themselves on both groomed and fresh snow. The Skeleton Key is quite undemanding and you won’t need much energy to have fun. We truly love it!

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
