Description

You could describe the D1 5’5 as the basic model from Dupraz. It features a very directional shape, with a generous front tip in terms of rocker and width, that goes into a classic camber running along the length of the board to end in a tapered tail with light rocker. To go along this ideal shape for freeriding, you find a setback foot stance that makes riding the board easier and enhances the natural performances of the shape in powder. The Dupraz D1 5’5 offers very good floatability, but is also very pleasant to ride on groomer where it will offer grip and rebound on carved turns. It stands out from the competition with its 165 cm size, but it rides like a 154 cm. The extra 11 cm are only a bonus to float better in powder. Dupraz recommends it to intermediate and advanced riders from 50 kg to 85 kg (7.87 st to 13.39 st) and less than 1m50 to 1m90 (4.9 ft to 3.28 ft). The more skilled you are the more you will be able to choose this board even if you are a lighter rider.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
