What can the Jones EXPLORER SPLIT snowboard do? 

Once the sun came up, split your EXPLORER in two skis to start your climb ! You should know that it has a major asset : the Magne-Traction edges, which will help you to get a great grip for your kick turns… We let you imagine the pleasure to be able to climb without the snowboard on your shoulders. Regarding your descents, you will enjoy yourself ! Wether this is fresh or hardpack snow, it will perfectly glide everywhere thanks to its hybrid profile. Its nose and tail rockers assure you a great flotation on powder as well as an easy handling on every other snow types. Its camber and its Magne-Traction edges will be major allies on hardpack snow, providing a superior grip… So we let you go searching for new spots !

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
