In 1870, Torino, Italy, Cesare Ferrino began working on waterproof fabrics and he met an immediate success with his brand and his products. He quickly teamed up with the notorious car manufacturer Fiat to build the roofs of its vehicles and with the army to build tents. The performance of the products was so high that the name quickly became an flagship in the outdoor industry. The different tent models (Neghelli, Alpina, Ultima…) provided mountaineers with optimal protection in the most extreme conditions. Since 1994, Ferrino is one of the rare brands to have a ‘high lab’ (high altitude laboratory) where they develop and test their products in real conditions. In 2006, Ferrino raises a new challenge with its Tolomea suit. This piece of technology allows to survive in La Cueva de los Cristales, Mexico, for 80 minutes when you can only survive 10 without equipment (58°C and 99% humidity). In 2008 the brand buys Baldas, a snowshoe company. On Glisshop, we have for you Ferrino backpacks and avalanche airbags featuring the AirSafe system, a Recco reflector and a triple safety system (shovel, probe, transceiver). Ferrino is providing the ENSA (national skiing and mountaineering school based in Chamonix) with its products, sign of their reliability.
