It was by venturing into waterproofing fabrics that Cesare Ferrino founded his brand in 1870 in Turin, Northern Italy. Success was immediate and the Ferrino brand quickly gained the trust of Fiat for the manufacture of its car hoods as well as the Italian army for its military tents. The performance of Ferrino fabrics made the brand a true synonym for outdoor. With its various tent models (Neghelli, Alpina, Ultima...), the brand became a benchmark among mountaineers and explorers. When it comes to high mountain survival and extreme conditions, Ferrino is the name that comes to mind. Since 1994, the brand has had a high-altitude lab, allowing it to test new materials and prototypes in real conditions. In 2006, Ferrino faced the impossible: a temperature of 58°C and 99% humidity in the Cueva De Los Cristales in Mexico. The Tolomea suit then enabled survival for 80 minutes in this crystal cave, compared to 10 minutes without equipment. In 2008, Ferrino acquired Baldas and its snowshoes.
