L'Ess Skiroll
Evio Tiozzo founded ESS Skiroll in 1981 not far from Venice, Italy. For more than 30 years, the company has been specialized in the design and manufacture of roller skis. They wanted something that would simulate cross-country skiing so you can train all year round, even when there’s no snow!
Since its very beginning, ESS aims to recreate realistic cross-country gliding feel on wheels. The first models were equipped with shock absorbers, like the Morotto Ski, and then in 1986, the brand developed the UNI 3571, an aluminium alloy frame that was stronger but also lighter and more comfortable.
In 2005, ESS revolutionizes rollerskiing with the I-Glitti, a system combining metal and plastic, and then carbon fiber from 2008 onwards. Two years later, the company introduced another innovation: the tecnopolimeri. Nowadays, ESS collaborates with Veneta Guarnizioni in order to stay at the forefront of technology and meet the requirements of the best athletes.
